Malazan Combat Challenge

Its been kinda of slow lately on these forums so I thought I might start up a tourney thread to maybe generate some discusion. So here It is it will be a 16 man tournament there will be four rounds for voting and discussion until one combatant remains standing. I have tried to eliminate anyone who would greatly outbalance the tourney. If we want to do this for high end characters like Rake or Traveller or characters like that we can begin a seperate thread.
For the sake of eliminating convertations over which style of weapons beats what I have limited the weapons for this tourney to sword like weaponry and the participants can only use weapons they typically use. All fights are to the death and you are eliminated on the first death(rhulad). Combatants can only use powers that they themselves have or are imbued in thier weaponry.
I have put the sixteen combatants in a hat for match ups.All combatants start each round uninjured alive and unmaimed. The first round will last till next sunday write in discuss the matchups and vote for your winner in each match up.
1.Fear Sengar (combat master of the Tiste Edur)
vs
Bult ( Commander of the fearsome Wickans no horses allowed sorry)
2. Bruhkhalian ( Mortal sword of Fener and leader of the Gray Swords)
vs
Stormy (super strong bad ass marine with a Talan Imass Sword)
3. Kallor (undefeated in 100,000 years Whiskeyjack had him?) As is in MOI not in time of elder gods his candles allowed prefight.
vs
Temper (member of Dessems sword from Night Of Knives)
4. Adjunct Lorn (Adjunct to the Impress with an Ottataral sword)
vs
Rhulad (will give him credit for the power up of his last death MT.)
5. Kalam (The assassin we all love with the two long knives in HOC
One Ottataral the other blessed)
vs
Gruntle (Mortal sword to trake fighting with cutlasses)
6.Brys Beddict (Imperial champion of Letheras with a Letheri steel sword)
vs
Trotts (Barghast marine of the Bridgeburners)
7. Senu ( Seguleh 11th at only 14 years of age)
vs
Moroch Nevath ( Finnad in Letheri, skill and Letheri Steel.)
8. Bnagga (Soletaken Jheck the Dominant)
vs
Whiskeyjack (Dessem had trouble with him no leg injury)
Well hope to get some interesting debates started first round will last till next Sunday. Have fun.

Just Take each matchup disscuss the matchup and vote on you believe would win next Sunday results are tallied and the next round begins. Its like all these who's the best who's the strongest thread except with results and a basis for comparison.

5. this is a toughie, and as cool as gruntle is, i think kalam would take it. kalam can be very very sneaky when he needs to, and if he uses his claw skills to the fullest he can take gruntle out without gruntle even knowin it
6. i pick brys as the favourite
i love trotts to death, hes one of the coolest bridgeburners, but i dont think he has the technical skill that brys does. brys just has that confidence, the sword is literally an extension of himself.
but trotts will give him a run for his money

Ok then...
1. Fear.
2. Bruhkalian.
3. Temper. Not on fighting style, but on strength, mostly.
4. Rhulad. Otatoral's magic deadening qualities are much decreased on Elder warrens, and have almost no effect on chaos.
5. Hmm, toughie. Probably Gruntle, purely because it's an out-and-out fight.
6. Brys. No real contest. Look what he did to Rhulad. Trotts would be mincemeat.
7. Moroch Nevath. Senu is an 11th level initiate, not the Seguleh 11th. Theres a difference;)
8. Whiskeyjack, but again, only just, because he probably wouldn't give B'nagga time or space enough to utilise his soletaken-ness.

5. Kalam this fight would be awesome to see can you imagine either quiting ever
6. Brys amazing swordsman best on the Letheras continent
7. Moroch Nevath almost a match for Brys
8. Whiskeyjack could hold Dassem for a while

1 Fear (who da fak was Bult?)
2 Brukhalian (dunno why, just a feeling I have)
3 ----- (don't know Temper, alas, but I DO hate Kallor, so my vote goes for Temper just because of simpathy
)
4 Lorn (Rhulad wasn't such a badass with weapons and besides Lorn's otataral sword could prove some sort of protection against his powers)
5 Kalam (I mean, come ON!)
6 Brys (he had style and was cool and... er... did I mention he had style? Trotts is a barghast, and barghasts generally suck
)
7 Senu (Seguleh after all)
8 Whiskeyjack (never particularly liked him but he is still a hell of a soldier)

1. i dunno if this was serious, but bult was coltaines second in command, got his ear chopped off my dujek, but he more or less took dujeks arm. but even still fear would win
2. stormy, hes just so gosh darn cool with his t'lan sword and his devil may care attitude
3. dont know, cant vote
4. lorn never impressed me much with her fighting ability, so i think rhulad prolly take that one
5. kalam, as i said before
6. brys as i said before
7. sure senu could block with half drawn swords, and thats impressive, but its not monumental, it just takes training. moroch is an incredibly skilled fighter, and the errant had originally picked him to kill b'nagga, but moroch was otherwise occupied
8. whiskeyjack of course. no leg injury means his movements will be totally unimpeded

Kalam and Gruntle will start fighting, give each other a couple of deep blows, and then then find out that neither is enjoying fighting for causes that arent exactly their own. Meanwhile, Minala and Stonny Menackis will have started bitching about how the sorry the two men are (or men in general!) and why on earth are they like this and....
Disgusted with the bitching, Kalam and Gruntle sit down for a mug of ale and attempt to settle it by an arm-wrestle. By then they're too drunk to care. They wake up the next day with no recollection of the previous night and go their own way.

1.Fear Sengar easy fight, bult isnt amazing, fear is
2. Bruhkhalian, was amazing, will kick ass in this round
3.cant vote, but i hope kallor dies in agony
4. ffs, rhulad would win in a few seconds
5. sorry, i love gruntle, but he can be no match for kalam
6.Brys Beddict, as said before trotts is a vett, but brys is near invincible
7. Senu. moroch is nothing special, whereas although senu is a low ranking seguleh, he is amazing and took on masses of seerdomin in moi
8.um whiskeyjack by a long shot if bnagga isnt allowed to veer, if he is then still whiskeyjack but very close
