Yeah, that's a surprising move to be sure.

Putting a flagship on the front lines with only a couple cruisers like that is bold, too. What if someone has the kill-a-flagship SO?

I already scored one stage 2 PO, so at most I can score 3 VP from POs. Both SOs I have right now are status phase, so can't do both, and both are bloody hard to begin with. We'll see if the Imperial SO draw gives me an action phase replacement... unlikely.

Too bad Unexpected Action was already played or I could pretend to have that.

This became higher priority as soon as you signal jammed MR (and it was the same plan I had in mind for if you DIPLO'd it). I figure there's only 2 action phase SOs I could draw that would actually be achievable this round, so it's a much higher likelihood I'm now working towards reaching 10 VP early next round, and not this round, and doing it via a 3rd PO, not a new SO. That means hanging onto enough planets to fulfill a new PO or the spend 8 influence PO early next round has become important, and IH's fleet was poised to make a couple tactical actions of picking up infantry from his homeworld and dropping them on Bereg/Lirta, Wellon, etc. So the sooner I pin down IH's fleet (or make it retreat into the asteroid field where it's locked down), the fewer actions he can take where he takes away planets from me and the better poised I will be to fulfill whatever new PO arises first thing next round.

Oh, and also with Blend likely getting his SO in Dal Bootha and able to buy enough CTs for the 2VP PO, the longer I wait to play Imperial the less he'll be able to do to try and qualify for any new SO he draws, so that's a good reason for me to wait on Imperial, too. He has enough of a wall and a pile of action cards that he won't be stopped any other way except by us praying he doesn't draw an SO he already meets the criteria of, I think.
