When it only costs 1 TG to put out 2 Infantry, it's rare that paying you 1 or more TG for it is worth it, at least for me. At least when I'm putting them out myself you're not getting extra money.

As you say, I'm just going to loot whoever gets minister of explo anyway. I kept it in the draw not because I'll necessarily get it, as I'm highly invested in Mecatol Rex exploding so you can't hurt me as much, but it's a guarantee of more TG in the game no matter who gets Minister, which is usually good for me.

And I just haaaaaad to keep the Ixth card, this is the most I've ever seen someone be so fully stacked with almost all their units on MR. So dramatic!

Also I have assassinate representative. IH I'll take your trade agreement pn to use it on who you want. Actually that deal will be good on whoever wants to buy its use except D'rek unless she wants to throw a trade good in with it.

Once d'rek completes her tech path if she attacked one of your 2 planet hexes she'd gain 1tg from eres, 1 tg from salvage for killing a ship plus 1 tg per planet she took. Doubled due to mirror computing. And she'd get to build. And with the rex agenda she can get deep enough in yellow this turn that she might get integrated economy to for extra builds. 8 resources and a build or two for one ct. The mind boggles.

I thought you would be the prime advocate of d'rek not getting this tech. It's the supreme mentak combo.

Okay, I get that, but it's not much different if anyone else is elected. The above is a specific situation that COULD happen. If anyone else gets it, she still gets to steal 2 TG every time that person takes planets from me - 1 from ERes and 1 from Minister.

The idea that IH could lose everything over Mecatol is certainly attractive, but I don't really want everyone to get 2 techs for free, it'll cheapen the worth of my Research Agreement if no one needs it to get good techs anymore.

So obviously I'll be casting all votes for myself for Minister.

If no one tries to buy someone else's votes for Minister, then there's no point in voting against me on Minister, so that means all other votes are going for Ixthian.

Blend says he doesn't want the effect for fear of losing his technology lead. IH of course doesn't want to explode. If Twelve and Tatts do want to trigger the effect, doesn't that make it 24 v 24 votes? If so then it goes to Speaker to resolve the tie (mwahahaha).

@Twelve + Tatts, I do think the effect is good for us 3 either way. Obviously if it explodes that knocks down IH a lot and gives us each some breathing space to maneuver around instead of being squished up against each other. Blend I would say is in 2nd place right now, and if the Stage II tech objective(s) pop up first we will probably be playing catch up to his tech lead for a while, but everyone researching twice would catch us up to the objective requirements nicely.

Also, when are we ever going to see an Ixthian explosion opportunity this perfect ever again?

Frankly D'rek has a scary economy and needs to be pruned back. Attacking her and forcing her to lose planets will make it hard for her to gain a whole lot of trade goods going forward.
