Okral's last two posts are both pretty weird. I'll vote for him for now, but I'd like to see more thoughts from him. Sheltatha Lore and Aranatha had a bit of a spat, and I'll take a closer look at that later.

Vote Okral Lom

Aaaaaand we have the good old "Drive by vote" making an appearance.

So Aranatha is playing with the Gut ™ and going for Tennes, whilst Shelly is questioning said Gut ™, and no one else is really taking sides.

I'm not sure what to think about Tennes. Symp cases are dumb, unhelpful, and wrong 90% of the time; That being said, putting one forward on Day 1 is a surefire way of catching heat (from me, for example), so it'd be a really ballsy scum move to try and lead the thread. And now he's voting Okral which is consistent with his (wrong, :p ) theory that I was signalling him; Not that Okral himself hasn't given everyone plenty of reasons

still, IGMEOY, Tennes.

My poking is over for now guys. Either way day one lynches are always going to be a lot more guess based than the rest. I agree that Okral lom is somewhat weird, so I'll be okay to switch to that. My thinking about what happened yesterday with me and Sheltatha going at it is that it's possible that we're both town because of the amount of noise we're willing to put out there. It's not something that scum do often, at least not on day one. But I still definitely will keep my eye on both Sheltatha and Tennes. Both of them have argued and posted in ways that makes me think they could be scum also, as I've laid out. Not much else to do right now than to see where it leads.
Anyways, I'm not exactly sure when I'll be back, so I'll

remove vote

These words make me think off-thread comms are in effect between scum

I don't want to be too nit-picky, maybe you were distracted during your catch-up (and I'm glad you showed up!), but:

1. is that really the only player post that caught your eye? Posted Image
2. Can you expand what you mean, I'm more paranoid than an hemophiliac in a needle factory and that post leaves me flat
3. In what order are you reading the thread during your catch-up? You quote an intro post after an early post

I see there is heat on Okral and tbh I didn't read too much into the post that started it (via Rikkter's vote) but then Okral wrote this and it's just bizarre:

Aranatha is 0 to 60 on this case (blocks of text, tl/dr style). I think the theory of a dumb as shit symp is worth a peek, but right now, Okral caught my eye the most. I never like it when players break the 4th wall and discount their own suspicious behavior in advance in an attempt to forestall suspicion. It is a self awareness that provides an anchor to the claim that they were just being helpful, sorry to seem scummy, nothing to see here. A few other players did this "durr sorry I am scummy" today, but right now, Okral stood out in the context of everything becoming srs biz.

Vote Okral

Yeeeah, I can see it in retrospect. I think it was a result of nervousness to post anything tangible that early (which pretty much always backfires, as evidenced by the current state of things) and me trying to segue into the fact that it's probably the quiet people we should be looking at (although I think Venesara and Okaros might just be MIA?). Apparently I didn't actually need to rush a post though, since it pretty much immediately got crazy in here.

I'm also not sure what to think of Aranatha. It's not the actual content that's odd so much as the phrasing/aggression. Trolling for kicks? Trying to poke poke poke? Or trying to act so aggressive no one would suspect him of actually being legitimately scum?

Still not ready to vote on anyone. Most cases so far are pretty weak, but do make a little sense. I'll be pretty busy tomorrow, but I'll try to at least read up and vote before the day rolls over.

Why would you be nervous to post something tangible? Like... that's literally the point of Town's game. Put tangible info on thread so players can build cases. The only people who don't want that are Scum.

Then there's some wishy-washy, non-committal stuff about Aranatha and then even wishier-washier shrugging off the entire discussion so far. Okral's game is basically 'I guess maybe I don't know not really kinda? btw I'm busy tomorrow'. So yeah, I'm on board with the case on them. Gonna put a vote there for now but there's a couple of other that are on my radar. In particular:

* Prazec, for the super obtuse question about symping. Merrid and Barghast pointed it out earlier. It looks like a lame-ass deflection.

* Ruse, for claiming claiming that the 'spat' between me and Aranatha is somewhow gonna overshadow D2 and it's the best call to lynch one of us. There's been other suspects and discussion on thread and I don't get how you overlook that unless you do it on purpose.

* Sheltatha, because it seems like they've been winding up Aranatha. I agree with Shel that Aranatha is most likely just a bad townie but I feel like they've been exploiting that and egging Ara on to go on their tirades. Perhaps to obscure other discussion?

So I'd be content with any of that three as well but for now:

Vote Okral Nom.

I agree with much of this. Ruse’s ‘lynch one or the other’ caught my eye too, and while they have a point in that such feuds can overwhelm games, it does also read a little bit like, ‘well we were wrong with the lynch of one, so let’s now line up the other for the second lynch just to make sure.’

That one stuck out to me, maybe because it was early on the page. I usually read in different sequences, so don't let that trouble you if I'm out of sequence.

What a pretty pile up, will be interesting to analyze later

Thought it might be connected to Tennes getting 2 votes to Okral's 3 but then the Okral voters are pretty direct in opposing the votes on Tennes which doesn't look like a scum strategy

I don't think Okral is that likely to be a killer, his play seems too unguarded for scum, wishy washy indeed but like careless about it

I wouldn't bring up lack of resistance as an argument, this is not much of a time or situation for resistance from scum

But still this was easy and I'm a little alarmed how swiftly the train went, including Ruse's and Ara's relatively quick switch from Tennes (Note that Aranatha is suddenly content enough with following Tennes after all the vibe scanner stuff)

vote Thyrllan

A lot of dubious stuff going on today but it kinda started when there were 2 votes on Thyr, who during that time got a few joke or otherwise altogether insubstantial posts in, made sure he takes having the votes on himself with ease, then as the attention on him died away so did his presence

Supposed to be tmdi 2 which would make it safe to assume a standard like setup with comms and a possible symp

To me this reads like a list of (in your opinion) plain bad plays, but isn't that the first thing scum usually wants to avoid? I wouldn't bet on an unexperienced scum much when searching for them in this game, and would expect to find more reliable tells in subtleties and hidden patterns rather than the gaping irregularities, but ofcourse it's d1

I wasn't intending it to be a "Drive by vote". I was putting it on him to encourage him to reply, since while I do think his posts are suspicious, I'd also like to see if his pattern of behavior continues or if that last post was just him being weird once. I can see him legitimately being nervous about posting, but it's still an excuse. Him actually posting would give us more stuff to read and talk about regarding his lynch.

BTW, why are people assuming there's a symp or something? I don't see any evidence for it.

My thoughts on Aranatha: Made a few NAI posts and then jumped out on Tennes, saying they were basically guaranteed scum. I'm not sure if they're really that certain about Tennes or if they're just an aggressive villager trying to get some reactions. Then Aranatha and Sheltatha had a little conversation about Tennes that didn't seem to go that well. Aranatha's reactions felt pretty angry, but that could come from either a villager or scum. I'm suspicious about them for that initial Tennes vote though but everything else reads NAI or aggressive villager. If they keep up the Tennes tunnel I'll be a lot more suspicious. They did switch to Okral recently but then again so have most other people.

Just a quick clarification - just because you suspect one person doesn't mean you can't suspect others aswell. I'm sure there are more than one scum in the game, and there's not that much time left, so I'm not sure what the problem is with being quick?
Unless you want no lynch on day one? Is that what you're saying?
