You fine people, sitting on your ass all day at the minute.
Assist me if you may.
Lady's sisters birthday at the weekend, virtual party, we're using zoom or hangouts.
What games are good for virtual Games night? I see a thing on Steam call jackinbox or something, does everyone have to fork out for it or just the host?
Also, let's organise a virtual.games afternoon for us nerds too.
Get to it, I'm busy today

We’ve been doing a virtual games night every Saturday. Everyone on a conference call webcam.
First time we did poker, downloaded a free mobile app for that.
Second time we did a pub quiz with one person hosting.
Third time we played Articulate with teams organised so that you had to be partnered up with someone in a different location to you. Not everyone had the game so we took photos of the cards and sent them round to the group.
The Jackbox Party Pack games are great. Or I should say, some of the games in the packs tend to be great, others are not that good. But it’s worth the price for getting those ones which most will enjoy. We play a lot of Drawful, for example (sketch something random you’re assigned and others have to guess it, it’s more hilarious the worse you are at drawing). And another game whose name I’ve forgotten where everyone is a different secret monster with a secret ability and you have to convince others to date you - we call it Date My Robot but that’s definitely not the name!
Only one person has to buy it, you then go to the jackbox website and enter the code you’re given to enter the same lobby as the person hosting. It’s all played on mobiles/tablets, but you will need to point a camera at the tv/computer screen as well because a lot of the info will be on there.

You can do pictionary on Zoom via the Share Screen function. Just need to make sure there is no one in the group who just starts drawing dicks all over.
Last week we had the hosts lead us in a Trivia Pursuit game by just reading out questions from a set they had at home. Everyone was on the honour system for not using phones, but it's kinda easy when you're on the camera and everyone can see what your hands are doing,
I believe there's also a Cards Against Humanity app out there.
