At any rate, isn't the whole point of a Wizard to be weak and squishy early, but to grow into a damage dealing monstrosity by the end?

*waves Hi guys in Ye Big VG Thread.

There was early access last Fall. What's the most recent communication about BG3?

They recently added druid to early access

It looks pretty cool.

As these things go, how long before they get to official retail release? Or is this just the strategy? Just make incremental updates as the user base grows and provides feedback?

I think this is the approach they are going with, buddy of mine said a while back they tried buffing wizard by giving their cantrips elemental effects similar to Divinity Original Sin 2. Issue is that playerbase complained it made them too strong...

Bit of a balancing act... as by 5e standards... yes thats too much power in a cantrip (being able to cast firebolt and have a damage over round effect, or frost bolt and create difficult terrain? But BG3 also isn't a pure DnD game so idk which way is correct.

I believe there will eventually be a full retail game out, but it will be a while before such. I hope this doesnt turn into a story of infinite development hell... but so far everyone who has played the game is enjoying it.

Apparently higher ground is a huge advantage and druids have an easy time getting to higher ground.

They give ranged attacks from higher ground advantage, and that includes wizard spells.

A warlock player in BG3 essentially misty-steps to a higher ground and then just sits up there and pew-pews with Eldritch Blast.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

Yes but we only have most of Act 1 available and the level cap is 5.

Been playing a ton of it over the week, its amazing, fun and full of promise.

The downside is unless the game behind the scenes is way more advanced.... its gona be over a year before we get the full game.

Also everyones talking about how op pushing people of cliffs is... but im not having great odds at doing it...
