There's now reports of over a 1000 dead in Italy, an increase of 23% since day before.

Holy fuck.

The stuff coming out of Iran from non-gov channels is truly horrifying if even somewhat accurate.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but since I haven't seen any and I'm not sure where to find it.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Really hoping Tax Day (April 15) gets pushed out. I doubt they will touch that though.

'US health official says coronavirus testing system is "failing"

The US states hit the hardest by the coronavirus outbreak are struggling to make testing for the virus widely available.

The top United States official on infectious diseases, Anthony Fauci, said on Thursday that people could not get tests for the deadly coronavirus easily and the US testing system is not meeting the country's needs.

[...] "The system is not really geared to what we need right now ... That is a failing. Let's admit it," Fauci told a House panel. "The idea of anybody getting it easily the way people in other countries are doing it, we're not set up for that. Do I think we should be? Yes. But we're not."

New York and Washington, the states hit the hardest by the coronavirus outbreak, are struggling to make testing for the virus widely available, and local officials estimate it could take weeks more to reach peak testing capacity.'

Bolsonaro is under medical observation after his press secretary tested positive - he (the press secretary) met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday apparently

And Trump said he was not worried about having been in close contact with him...which is a bald-faced LIE, that germaphobe is scared shitless.

Now that this is coming out I gotta say listening to Trump talk last night, and listening to it again, I did detect a little bit of scratchiness in his voice. Maybe it's nothing, and people are over analyzing it and overreacting, but I don't know, it could be something.

What's the point in reeling off numbers like this? As a percentage of the population of the country what is it? Minuscule.

They have changed the UK approach from "contain" to "delay". People with cough and or fever need to stay home for 7 days. They will stop testing people with suspected virus if their symptoms are mild and they are also asking those people not to even call the medical services. Basically "it's here, most of you will be fine".

Anyone in the UK concerned I highly suggest you go straight to the source and watch Johnsons latest press conference in full. Once the Chief Scientific Officer and the Chief Medical Officer of England start speaking it becomes very comprehensive and evidence based. All other reporting is total bullshit. The CMO in particular is an extremely competent scientist and there is no way he would be "spinning" any of this stuff for politics. The worst thing to happen now is for politics to happen*.

*I mean happen beyond the amount the fuckers have already decimated the NHS and social care network.

Macros and Morgoth's Spring Break: Mexico is a movie i want to watch.

I would pay GOOD money to see this. Honestly.

The Viking & The Irishman Go On Holiday.

Directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

The scene where they discover their nice classy beachside hotel is overrun with American university springbreakers!

But seriously Mac, Morg.... how's your beer-pong game?

Breaking - No March Madness.

NCAA cancels remaining winter and spring championships

This is fucking huge. The tournament takes place at various regions, w/ the the road to championship ending in Atlanta for the final four teams. The economic impact of this cancellation is going to reverberate, big time.

Crazy difference from 24 hrs ago. I wasn't to concerned, I'm getting there now.

Damn. Why couldn't it be Woody Allen or Roman Polanski?

KL showed me this article that touches on the bungling of the response in the USA.

I'm not exactly brimming with confidence in our government's ability to handle this crisis.

Because it’s interesting how virulent it is and how fast it’s spreading.

Is there a problem? This thread is about all kinds, including numbers...

Danish parliament is about to vote on temporary emergency measures that'll allow the government to force infected into treatment and allow police to enter private property without a warrant if there's a suspicion of infection.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!
