Happy New Year folks!

What are you doing for the New Year's Eve?

I'm just going to be lying o my couch and watching the celebrations.

If I don't fall asleep.

I'm in work today and tomorrow so I'll probably watch a film with my wife and be in bed by 9!

But happy new year to you all, I hope 2020 is a pleasant, productive and successful one.

Just got back from watching the 9pm family-friendly timeslot fireworks at The Strand (beach). Nice.

Looking forward to 2020 being back in Brisbane where family and friends are, and at a not-shit unit. Living about ... 1km from where I'm working. :)

Here's hoping 2020 is better for everyone than 2019 was. Even if your 2019 was good.

How's that whole Australian fireworks debacle going? Has everything burned down?

Some of the photos from down under look absolutely mental, especially the one with people trapped on the beach and the sky is just red... scary shit.

Most places in or near affected areas have cancelled but the big Sydney one just finished a few mins ago. It got the go ahead as it was over water etc. Plus it's a big international thing and makes shitloads of cash for the city and state.
Lots of people offended by it going ahead but frankly the money had already been spent and they're using it as a platform to push for donations.
Apparently the Red Cross website is raking it in, so that's something.

@champ
Yeah, it seems like half the eastern seaboard is aflame. I know people in areas affected.
Hell, last summer my Dad's place right on the far south coast of NSW was only missed by less than 200m.

I'm lucky where I am is pretty much unaffected. So far. But I'm moving out of here on 10 Jan back into the middle of Brisbane so we should be safe from fires and floods where I'm going.

Yeah, we call that period "Spring, Summer and Autumn".

Although this year for the first time in ages we had some fires in late winter, due to the ongoing drought and the fact our winter is warmer than most other people's summers. :p

Happy New Year!

I'm going to try the whole "jump off a chair at the stroke of midnight so you leap into the new year" thing this year! Though there has been talk of beer pong as well, so I may not stick the landing ^_^

Just don't do it how Mentalist would and you should stay in one piece. Probably.

Right now it’s about 60/40 whether we go to a friends party or stay on the couch.

Just remember to lift your left leg just before midnight. That way you will start the new year off on the right foot.

We left the house at 8am today, went into London and took the sprog to the theatre for the first time to see a kids show of one of our fave books (Oi Frog). Anyone who is a fan of the League of Gentlemen will understand when I say it was Legz Akimbo-esque. How we laughed but the kid loved it. Then we went to my sisters partners place and had a slap up champagne lunch. Home 11 hours later, cleaner has been so the house is spotless. Bedtime soon. I do not wish to see midnight, 2019 can do one but we had a lovely day. If I can manage to stay up The Running Man starts at 9pm but I doubt it's going to happen.

Happy New Year you varmints.

I'm sure a "slap up champagne lunch" is not what I'm picturing in my head, but the thing I'm imagining sounds hilarious

Happy new Year, folks. Rang in the one over in UA with my grandparents over Skype just over an hour ago, so I'm done my first bottle of the night already.

Heading over to a friend's house for the evening. There will be beer pong. There is also a keg. And another friend seems keen to mix beer and skittles to see how Skittlebrau tastes. it should be amusing, provided no one chokes to death.

Hope everyone's having a great holiday. May allt he best things from the old year stick with you, and leave all the worst behind.
