Anaster took Toc's stone weapons off him before he was taken to the Seer.
Then he was captured... and presumably his weapons were taken away. Anyone know if he got them back again? hmmm invested .....:D
I found the scene at the end quite bitter/sweet....the one where Tool talks to him .... *wipes tear from corner of eye*

I don't know if he got them back, the last I recall is him trying to kill himself with toc's stone knife. Canabilism I can let go but common thievery, shame on him.

i liked that final theme but could never understand why Tool didn't introduce himself properly ?

*spoiler for those who haven't finished reading MoI!!!*

I don't think the book mentions anaster getting his stone weapons back. But since Toc reincarnated into Anaster's body, it would make sense if he'd get his weapons back.

As for Tool: does anybody know how he's come to be flesh and bone again?

no need to worry about MoI spoilers.. as this is the forum for those who have read Memories of Ice. :D

As for Tool... there's a decent explanation for that somewhere recently..

as for tool id say hes sister changed him or it was because of his relinquishing his role as first sword changed him

could be because he gave up his role as first sword (when he let his sword fall to silverfox feet - i interpreted this as quitting service of a kind) and since he is imo only tied to the tellan ritual because of his being the first sword as all his relatives were killed by his sister now that he severed the ties to tellann his last relative being still alive in flesh and blood he somehow became the same again...

does that make any sense?? :Erm:

This was the last thread on the subject..

http://www.malazanem...read.php?t=2846

between the two I think it's pretty much explained :D

I suppose that as Kilava is flesh and blood - and not tied to the ritual, then once Tool was released the same thing happened to him. In other words - he appears to be the age he would have been at the time of the Ritual. but I'd really need a re-read of that part. :D

His appearance is that of a twenty year old man, very young for First Sword of Imass .. then again, appearances deceive :D

and a kickass swordsman.... swordsimass, if you will. :D

But, I just realize - he probably is BETTER at handling a sword, now that he is flesh-and-blood. If I recall correctly, f&b of any race is generally more agile, flexible and capable than its undead counterpart, eg, K'chain Che'Malle.

Onrack thinking of Tool...

"But he remembered the expression on the young face of Onos T'oolan...
....Onrack was certain that he had seen such in the First Sword's face..."
so yup.. he was definately young :D

You are not mistaken, Senu is indeed 14 years old. But he is only Eleventh Level intitiate.. Tool was the First Sword.. thats why I was wondering about the age.

I think that it is quite possible for Tool to be in his early 20's and still be first sword. Prehistoric people almost ceertainly didn't live as long as they do now. Plus being on a constant nomadic hunt for food and fighting endless wars against the Jaghut has got to seriously cut into a persons life expectancy. I would imagine that a respected Imass elder would be in their 40's.
