I shall use the precious '1st post' in this thread!

I hope they include the crucifixion scene if the movie acctually happens, it would put Passion or Spartacus to shame!

Also seconded who voted for Campbell as Coltaine.

The crucifixion scene is going to be pretty similar to the scene in The Last mohican where the guy is being tortured and the Nathan shoots him to spare him from the pain. In fact, I wonder if SE saw that movie before he wrote that scene.

I think he meant the crucifixion scene where the heroes who made it into Aren are turned in as traitors and put up along the Aren way.

Definitely not your average scene, that. But they can't remove it, surely.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

And a trip down Aren Way is needed once all 10,000 men have been crucified.

any news?

i think the movie "300" displays...

Disagree. 300 works because the settings are static for the most part, so even if the CG is weak at times, you can focus on the action and not the scenery. Note that there were no long panning shots except a handfull of overhead-type views to show the huge Persian army or elephants, vaguely.

The Chain story moves, a lot. The battles tend to go up slopes, cross rivers, into forests. And large numbers of refugees are often moving. CG undoubtably makes much of this do-able, but too much and you have the elephant scene from 300 - blurry, fast, vague, loses the wow factor.

- Abyss, wants his cast of thousands.

I seem to recall reading a Q&A with Steve himself soemwhere. Wasn't the whole concept originally a play set in the phoenix inn? I've read lots of talk in lots of places about a movie, all saying that it wud be the chain of dogs but then it was pointed out that the CCG costs would be hollywood like and it was something that was to be avoided (hollywoodisation that is -ok so I just made that word up). I was more interested in how Steve handles the original role-playing game him and his buddies playied in. Word has it, that it was a highly modified AD&D system (I'll say) then later it was GURPS, which to me is faaaarrr more preferable. I've been trying to replicate the feel/style in role playing games for me and my mates (we're all obsessed with malazan in Galway).
The good news I think is that sooner no later, the mans genious for epic, interwoven plots will be realised and what with George R R MArtins's Song of Ice and fire coming into production, the flood gates could just be opening for fantasy on the silver screen...

WHOA. They are making aSoI&F for the Silver Screen?
Nice. As in excellent (and not the French town)

Any updates on the CoD movie? Is the script finalized?
Who is producing it?
Was it shown to Jon Peters ?
Well I guess since CoD doesn't have any spiders in it I don't see any reason why he would produce it (hehe..Kevin Smith fans :heyhey: )

ASoI&F is going to be an HBO series. I'm so glad I have HBO now! (I never watch it)

i may be wrong as i haven't spoken to SE in quite a while, but as i understand it, each book will be released as a gaming appendix, with maps and places, and characters stats. i can't recall who is actually doing it though.
