Hey IH, when you eventually activate Bereg/Lirta, any chance you could fly your destroyer from the beta-wormhole over to there? Pretty please?

I quite like it there to be honest, stops surprise guests popping through the wormhole. Why do you want me to move it?

Her plan, I suspect, is Ensepta followed by Arinam/Meer.

I'll try to keep this concise because you could easily write a whole book about the 4 days

Our last evening there.

A friend of mine, we'll call him B, who is already probably more than little crazy when sober, had been on... variably high dosages of various drugs nonstop since before we arrived. Alcohol, weed, ecstacy, mdma, cocaine. He only slept a few hours outside on 2 out of 3 nights we were there, only ate a handful of snacks I shared with him and spent a lot of time dancing at the dj stage - aka big circus tent.

There was another guy with us, same drugs plus meth and lsd, except in more reasonable dosage. Reasonable, yeah, that's the one word that explains that beahviour the least, whatever. These 2 might just have been the highest people on the fest.

It was around midnight, most of the people already went to sleep mostly because of alcohol/drug/sleep mismanagment, few left of us at the circus tent, including B. He and another guy went to get some food and then back to the camp for a while, I went with them halfway then went back to dance, nothing unusual happened.

About half an hour later I went to the camp too. Noone was outside, I faintly remember proclaiming something general aloud, a friend of mine answers from his tent that B was taken by an ambulance, that he looked like he was dying so he had to get him some help. This came from someone had already seen him on leathal dose of ecstacy at the same fest last year (I wasn't there) and thought it's impossible to be in a more extreme state. Anyway I went back dancing, told this to the 2 girls who were the last remaining awake from our group. We danced and decided to go back to the camp after a while. In the meantime friend caled me that B's back. We got to the camp and found B leaning on his car looking as fresh as he he could like "where you all at? I was looking for you at the circus tent, wanted to party"

Now what happened from the POV of the campdwellers:
Everyone's inside their tents, suddenly they're awakened by screams and weird sounds. They peer outside and see B lying on the ground gasping, the other high guy kneeling next to him attempting a resuscitation while screaming "don't die! don't die!" and such. He did breathe and all so eventually they got him an ambulance (the second one, the first one sent them away because they were sleeping...) which was supposed to drive him to some other ambulance beyond the town to get him to hospital. On his way there he was talking something about people's ears growing out of proportions and just floating and waving around in the air. The doctors weren't exactly nice to him seeing how high he was so he eventually go them to get him a reverse to sign and be off. He argued he isn't going to some hospital as he doesn't have any way to get back. So he signed it and off he went, 3 kilometres beyond the town we were in, in the middle of the night, high on all the stuff, with a panic fear from darkness. He ran back to the town while hearing people whispering from beyond pickets and stuff and just talking to him (one of the guys followed him and stayed beyond the picket line near our camp when B finally got back, he was named Richard - or so he told him, and kept telling B to go to him), so he found his way back and that's where we found him.

What happened from B's POV:

When he was still at the circus tent, having eaten especially a lot of ecstacy that day, some random guy with dreads gave him some eyedrops, 3 drops into each eye, he didn't waht it was but soon after he went for the food with me and went to camp. The drops were lsd and apparently it was a pretty high dose. GOt back to the camp, smoked a giant bong rip, got cloudy headed and fell on the ground knocking his breath out. That's when the other high guy came in thinking he's dying and tried to resuscitate him, apparently the lsd also kicked in somewhere about this time because you know the floating ears and everyone thinking he's dying. So that was actually all, a knocked breath. And because of that he had to run 3 kilometres through darkness that he had panic fear of while on all those drugs. We only found out about this 2 days later.

The next morning he'd scratch himself under the shirt and we noticed some white shit on his stomach, he pulled the shirt up and we could see he still had those ekg thingies glues to his body. We were never truly convinced that he didn't jump out of the ambulance while it was moving.

Just a tip of the iceberg

Last weekend was the final bank holiday of the summer in the U.K., so of course me and my friends planned something crazy for it, our last opportunity before the autumn dreariness, you know?

So 11 of us rented a giant house in Sussex with pools and a hot tub and games areas and huge beds...well, I say 11 of us but actually there were four babies there as well so 15 of us.

I still can't believe some of the crazy stuff we did - like staying up till 10 when the parents got too tired and all went to bed. Or going in the hot tub AND THEN the pool, rather than the other way round. On one day we went to visit the site of the Battle of Hastings - while it was pouring down with rain!

Then there was the time one of the parents realised they had forgotten their son's pushchair and had to drive all the way back to London to get it - insane!

But that wasn't the end of it. We also watched the weekend football/soccer, played a few levels of N++, which we've been trying to complete for three straight holidays now, and discovered a new outdoor game we're really into - Spikeball (look it up).

Then there was Charades, Articulate, and Hearts.

;)

I had a very nice time, but, not being a parent myself, it was weird to see how much little kids being around changes your holiday routine. But my festival-going days ended long before this anyway ;)

I had a very nice time, but, not being a parent myself, it was weird to see how much little kids being around changes your holiday routine. But my festival-going days ended long before this anyway :(

Last weekend was indeed a Bank Holiday in England. My mum and dad rented a site in Wales, (a different country), for their caravan. My wife and I decided to take our daughter down to stay with them and so did my brother and his partner and little girl. So that is 6 adults and 2 little girls staying in a small caravan. How did we manage? My brother took a tent for his little family to pitch up next to the awning which is where my little family were sleeping. Or were we but i'll get to that later. We arrived early Saturday afternoon and decided to go for a walk, my dad and brother were out playing golf so it was me and the 5 girls or 6 if you're including Molly dog. Shockingly the two mums decided to run with their babies in their arms!

Spoiler

We crossed a bridge and played poohsticks and we got to a river and skimmed some stones. It was some crazy shit going down there. By the time we got back the girls were tired so we let them have a little sleep in the van whilst we all had a cup of tea and a chatter. So I read little Penny a few stories, sang her a few songs and then told her if she gets out of bed the monster will get her. This is her enjoying her sleep.

Spoiler

Later that night when the boys got back and the kids woke up we went the pub for our dinner. We enjoyed it. During the dinner a dj arrived and set up a karaoke and dance floor moving the dreaded pool table (i'll explain) out of the way. So naturally after dinner, and you'll enjoy this one Nom, Nanny and Grandad danced with the two girls. It was a special moment and I did capture a few videos. After that Penny, who is 2 and a half, sang You'll never walk alone on the karaoke for the unsuspecting local people. She nailed it and made me proud. That night we slept in our assigned places and it rained thoroughly. This delighted Jayne as she enjoys the sound of rain pitter-pattering on top of the awning or tent.

The next day was rainy and wet so we decided to go for a walk around a lake. This was lovely, and Nom you'd be proud. Grandad was looking for mushrooms to feed Penny but he only found these little purple fruit things hanging off of some spiky plant. They both enjoyed eating them and making Molly dog jealous at the same time.

Spoiler

We carried on our walk and saw people jumping in the lake from rocks the crazy bastards. We went the pub later again for more food and Penny had no rest at all that day as we were out and active for the majority of it. So when we got back, I put her in that big bed again, read her some stories, sang her some songs (we play a game were she picks two words, more like 10 in a row, and I have to sing a song with them words in it) then told her the monster will get her if she gets out of bed :( Nasty me.

That was at 5pm-ish, Nom she didn't wake until 7:30 the next morning. She effectively slept over 14 hours the lazy git :( this meant Jayne climbed in with her later that night, mum and dad had to make up the other bed at the end of the caravan and I slept in the awning on my own. How drunk I was, and how I did sleep well was a good combination as I was plied with booze from my mum and we didn't head to bed until a late late 11pm.

I did mention earlier the dreaded pool table. Just after dinner my brother and I had a few games and in one of those games he tin-hatted me. Shamefully. This is the first time it has happened to me. I should have went for an easy pot earlier on but didn't think he'd get so lucky. He hasn't let me forget it and I don't think he will. ;)

I know this post is a bit haphazard and I could've wrote it better but I am just thrilled at remembering how great the weekend was. I mean, Penny singing her first ever Karaoke song, Grandad and Nanny both dancing with their Grandkids on the dance floor, but the biggest memory I'll take from the weekend was on Monday.

We went back the lake we walked around and Grandad took Penny out in the canoe. The pure utter joy on her face. I went in another canoe alongside them and she was talking to Grandad telling him where the frogs lived, and what Lily pads are and calling over to me to see if she can come in my canoe. It was a really lovely moment. We finished off by visited a lovely tea house and bought a round of tea and cakes. It was a very special weekend and I loved every second.

I have a question for you Gnaw. Are you even going to try and score any more points this game? You haven't really been trying that hard up to this point as it is but you haven't negotiated with Tatts for Thiabah to gain the 4th Industrial planet. You've had a couple rounds where you could have tried to intimidate the council. You've had enough trade goods at various points to score that objective as well.

You've said taking my me out, which netted you all but Winnu, was a must for your game. Outside of me still being around you've had all my territory for multiple rounds and I'm sitting at zero points and could probably pass you if I gave up trying to defend against you and Tatts.

What are you doing? Do you still feel that this is the correct course of action? If not then talk to me. I'd like to try and finish this game not in last place or eliminated and I'm sure you would like a lot less pressure from having to waste resources and actions not gaining points.

What do you say?

I vastly underestimated the difficulty of eliminating you behind that fucking nebula. Which, btw, is partially your fault. Back in round 2 you performed an illegal action and none of us caught it.

You moved a dread from Winnu through Everra.

Had that not happened my game and yours would have been different.

As for my goals now?

That's a great story Tatts and some really wild stuff there. It also reminded me of some things I left out.

Like us boys going off to play golf. It took us three and a half hours to get around nine holes. I finished on 95 shots, or 63 over par. I fucking hate golf. Funnily enough, I finished fifth out of seven, rather than last.

And we also went to this playground by a lake, where there was a really enormous slide (like twenty metres long at least), and I took one of the kids up it at least five or six times, and the last time he almost fell out halfway down, which was hilarious (from my perspective, possibly not the parents').

Yes, I know it's my turn ;)
