This kind of posting is kinda pointless. I mean, here we are, discussing for some 11 pages who and WHY is better, and you come posting one-centence-statement and for what? A flame-war? Abit late for that...

Hey, it's all in good fun. lol

:bear: here's to 11 pages more!

Yeah, a lot of posts got deleted in the forum move, and posts in the Phoenix Inn and on the Discussion Board don't count towards post count either...

@Jen - if you're reading ASOIAF the first time do yourself a favor and stop reading this thread. Lot of spoiler potential here, and this series should definitely be read without any advance knowledge of what's coming....

Hey Folken I thought you'd read them... ah well, never mind... I think once I have read MBOTF again, and then read JS&MN I shall read ASOIAF again... I think it is a wonderful series, and by the time I have read all that, BH will have come out, and when I have read that, AFOC will have also come out! Good timing!

I also used to be a fist, not a sergeant, but we all lost quite a few posts.

Tiste - have you considered reading new books?

Hey all, I got a copy of aFfC yesterday, what I've read is really cool, all new characters so far, i guess it makes up for the ones he killed off. Hope everyone else has got a copy who wanted one.

I just realised that A feast for crows is out, and I don't have it! I'm going to the bookshop on Tuesday to hopefully remedy that situation. I can't wait to read it.

It hit the bookstores here in Brisbane today, two days after the 'official' Australian release date. Was it late everywhere else in Oz too? Anyway, must get back to reading!

How come the Martin book got released earlier in UK then in Canada and the US? You would think they would have the same release date all over the world.

Different publishers getting at ready at different times. I also imagine you simply need to print more books for the US launch then the UK launch. Thats what I'd guess at least

So what is the release date in the UK for AFFC? Amazon obviously is no indication...again.

well i heard martin say once that the uk is a smaller market so they try to push their books out sooner and hopefully people overseas order from them as well. those sales dont mean quite as much to the american publishers who have the larger market. heard martin say something like that in an interview.
