I think you are right. It's trades with commodities that get sticky as one person trades before the other has opportunity to even refresh that I might be thinking about. I just need to do the secondary first so Nico can't pillage me.

Strategic Secondaries have to be the first thing in your turn (since they're resolving ASAP after the primary was played), but after those you can do transactions at any point during your turn, even in-between the steps of a tactical action (but not in the middle of one step, nor partway through resolving an action card).

So sounds like I execute tech secondary, spend my resources, execute trade with Blend and since I have no trade goods not get pillaged. Then I can use the action card I traded for that same turn....? I don't have to wait until his next turn to complete the trade...?

That sounds reasonable.

(Blend still has enough TGs to get pillaged from it though.)

Well he's getting 4 from me on my next trade refresh so he is more than compensated for that.
