Well actually I've got tons and tons and tons of questions. Or observations. Nothing is as I expected at all.... the "world" the races, the gods....

But all that can wait until my reread. or after the book.

My one question is...... will this book (or fall of light) leave me utterly emotionally drained, spent, mindfooked like almost every single Book of the Fallen did?

I hope it does. This book is absolutely beautiful in terms of writing and I do love it, but so far I don't think its going to have the same emotional impact as...well any number of events from the previous books. The ICE books didn't really do that to me and I'd definitely like that experience again.

Meh
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

It defintely has the potential. I was suckerpunched by the finale.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Ok so I'm now at about 58% of the way through and I have a burning question, or observation- (stop reading now if that amount of the way through would be a spoiler for you)

Sooo...

In the aftermath of when Scara Bandaris's troop have slaughtered the family of Deniers, Nered makes the observation that after the fire the girl 'was barely human'

Human. And Erikson never throws words around, they all have meaning.

Very interesting. Hopefully it has meaning and I'm not just over analyzing a nothing.

SE uses words as human, man or woman when speaking about Tiste,Toblakai or whatever characters. This has caught my mind, too.I find it a very smart move.I'm tired of reading in fantasy "the elf" each time an elf appears, as if an elf ( or dwarf) were less a person than a racial template.

That's the first time I can remember noticing it. I actually thought he had been taking great care not to use "human" whenever the character wasn't strictly a human.

"Humane" has been used a few times I think, but I can't remember "human" being used.

In ToH I remember the narrator speaking about Anomander as "the man".
