If you guys are seriously suggesting I was supposed to infer who Thyr was dumping from one 4-letter post, you are giving me waay too much credit.

Last sentence was a nice intentional misunderstanding.

How so?

You say "don't we usually vote the killer, not the symp?" .

I'm saying, "well, yes , but the person I frivolously said might be a symp hasn't really said anything of substance that would allow me to make any connection between him and any other player. A single 4-letter word does not exactly give me much to work with"

Where is the misunderstanding?

Can you say anything about EP symping or fake symping you along with your airtight vote? :p I know it's day 1, I just have questions - you say you're just providing any alternative, but why say "someone else's coincidental post"? It's not coincidence. It looks like he is symping you. I realize you may be dismissing the "yawn" link as coincidence when you're under fire but it may take more than just a vote to clear that up

But really, if it's just OMGUS, cool and all. From the count I think this is L-4

Vote Fanderay

There's not much I can say about EP, or anyone. I don't think this is something one can make a valid defense against. What can I say? The only help I can offer is that I'm not an important townie, so don't worry about losing someone important. It's day 1 and shit happens.

For a day one case I am happy with it.

Much better than the usual "So and so is a poopyhead, let's vote for him".

Why you think I'm symping from a single 4 letter word?

Curious about this Yawn.

I've been rereading this to see what was bothering me about it.
You know what else is a 4-letter word? Yawn.
And why is it capitalized at the end of the only sentence?
The : emoji : words are not always obvious either. Sure, the coincidence is there, but not in writing - until Merrid points it out by disabling the emoji icon in his quote - matching spelling, case, etc., unlike Fandy's emoji.

It almost, almost reads like a symp signalling via making a case about a symp signalling...

Merrid is either extremely smart to catch such a subtle link or extremely lucky. Lucky is fine, smart can be dangerous. If anything, I think we overreacted to the "obviousness" of the coincidence. Difficult to say on day 1. Removing for now.

Hmmm. Actually I didn't use an emoji. I typed colons before an after. This is how we use to specify actions, for example when role playing, back in the day.

Merrid didn't take the emoji out. My post never contained an emoji. I don't know if this is better or worse for me, but having the correct facts may help later on.

I was using it pretty loosely honestly and half kidding. What I meant was that Merrid's case involves you and EP; people voted for you, so you voted for EP without extra reasoning. the vote looked more like a response to garnering votes rather than actually suspecting EP, who was the other party

So, a nice traditional Day 1 signalling case... nice.

A time and vote update from PS would be appreciated.

Why would two players use the same wording? The second player signalling the first is most obvious. On purpose or misdirection? Needs to be tested.

Ok. My vote for EP at the time was based on people thinking he was trying to signal me. Only I know I'm inno, so I surmised EP could be fake symping. Thus the vote. Like it's been said. It's day 1, and there's not much to go on.

EP mentions symp early, giving more possibility to fake symp.

EP hasn't voted me. He could be fake symping, but the yawn thing is too obvious to have merrit. Even so, look into this guy tomorrow if I'm lynched today.

Full disclosure, I think those of us being discussed are most likely innocent and the killers are lying low and letting us do their work. Everyone knows day 1 usually gets a townie lynched over nothing, then the NK, and the game starts with two easy town deaths.

I'd prefer we rouse the low posters before we make a final decision.

Yawning is an often used expression at the beginning of our games, but I couldn't fault you for doing so, honestly.
