Just a quick question really- Why does everyone make such a big deal about Fener being brought down into the mortal real and being all vulnerable? Aren't almost all the ascendants we are familiar with and don't worry about going about their daily business also in the mortal realm? Rake, Icarium, and other animalish gods of war who make an appearance in MoI are all in the mortal real as far as I know and no one worries about their safety if they just pop down the shops?

I've finished all of MBoTF and ICE books up to Stoneweilder so maybe its RAFO but I doubt it at this stage.

It's cuz he's stuck there. He essentially becomes warren-less.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Rake and Icarium are not gods, they are ascendants. Fener is a GOD. Puny mortals should be more in awe of things. A GOD was pulled to the mortal realm. Just accept it and be in awe. He has tusks and everything. What else do you want from epicness? Sentient planet brain blood? Flesh eating unicorns? Death ray sky keeps?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Gods have worshippers. Ascendants don't. Ascendants can become Gods.

The big deal about Fener is that a God who does not manifest in the physical world is a lot harder to harm. But once manifested, can be killed. Ascendants are always present in the physical world, they are always vulnerable.

He also lost his place as God of War, and was superceded by Trake and then the Wolves. That was a major power and influence loss.

Basically, its an unemding 'got caught in the shower by your roommate with no clothes on' type situation. Awkward and vulnerable.

But seriously, it makes him very vulnerable.
