So, back to the reading thing. On line two of the last post of mine quoted I say I consider my vote on you to be no-risk. You seem to have read that in some backwards sort of way as is evidenced by you miss-representing my stance as your push on me. Do you see why you make no sense at all?

The push I dropped over twenty posts ago?

Yeah. Like I said. Your reading comprehension sucks.

Huh?

I don't get this post, at all

Like Nereid's no-risk post was made way before you dropped your push

The post I quoted was made way after.

Your point?

Lots of posts, keep them coming. I will look forward to reading up in the morning and getting my teeth stuck into the game. I have not read any of it yet but it looks promising.

Hope you like a clusterfuck first thing in the morning...

Need to make a few phone calls, then I should be capable of playing properly for the last hour of the work-day

Nereid said you misrepresented his words as referencing to your push and your comment implied that can't be the case because you've already "dropped" the push. But by the time of Nereid's post no pushes have been dropped, so you could have easily done what Nereid said you had probably done despite you dropping it later.

Too many saids for me to parse, but to make a generic response, I'll just say that his post was obsolete in its entirety in that it came after I already dropped my push.

Whole 2. 3 if you count the "comment implies".

Even if you did indeed leave that be(what Nereid said), how's that any relevant though?

Wait, are me and Kilava the only ones whose talking to you is not obsolete right now?

1:1 is always a town-sided trade.

I also don't really know what you mean by this. Do you mean revealing one town for one scum? But they're not revealed as in confirmed - because the rest of town (and the other roled town) do not know which one to believe.

No. I mean death.

1 Town death is a worthy price if it results in a scum kill the next day.

1:1 trade.

Edit: fu autocorrect

But how would it do that? Your original proposal was that the healer and bodyguard effectively stay alive for the duration of the game by protecting each other through revealing. I'm saying that likely won't work because scum can fake-reveal.

So then you change your stance and say that well, we effectively vote to lynch the revealer and the counter-revealer in an effort to get rid of scum. In which case, yes, the scum is dead - but so is the roled town, for the rest of the game. It's not a great trade because the scum who dies is most likely the symp, who doesn't even need to be rid of for town to win the game.

So in a sense it would be two days spent talking about that, rather than finding the two killers, no?

No.

If two people claim the same role, one HAS to be scum.

Lynch only within those two. If it flips town, the next day is a guaranteed scum lynch.

I feel like mafia is a relatively new game here?

WCS in this scenario:

Bole reveals, symp counters.
Town lynches bole, killers NK healer. Day 2, symp lynch, 1 RI dead.

4 v 2, D-day, no roles left, no additional info. Each RI has 40% tops to vote scum. That's terrible D-day odds, given the starting setup.

I don't care about dying when the result is scum dies next.

Also, you're already voting me.

Without the counterclaim.

Looking mighty scummy.

His initial vote was for town role spec--which is not kosher round these parts. Perfectly understandable knee-jerk vote from any regular. You were making too much of it.

Oh yes, I had meant to remove in that post.

I'm gonna leave it there because.

Lol :)

Leaving your vote on an un-cc'ed power role is a scum claim.

More votes on Merrid.

No, it's a gesture of how ridiculous I consider your position to be. No-one else is going to join it so there's no risk. I'm expressing what I think of your play.

I'm going to go do some shit and leave that vote there till something better comes along.

First part; as others have said, it's a sulking vote. At least for day 1, w/o a counter, Nim has the benefit of a doubt (could be super-ballsy symp play, WCS).

Second part: it irks me, b/c he's basically setting himself up to come back at the end of the day and jump on anything "better that came along" . The passive tone implies Merrid won't be trying to pressure scum into showing themselves. (Which is kinda consistent with his ongoing badgering of Nim).

For what it's worth, I like the gumption - really started the game proper off quickly!

I'm all about game breaking.

I don't always have the perfect answer, but that's why the rest of town is here... to help figure that stuff out.

lol, it's like going in the fridge and cupboards, throwing all the ingredients for dinner out all over the kitchen, and then saying, 'well, I've done my part!' :)

You're also insinuating that I'm finished cooking.

My push on Merrid proves that to be false.

This is the post Nim refers to a lot.

What he fails to realize is that until everyone checked in, and no one countered, every town player has a right to be sceptical (and if we truly look at WCS, he could still be symp trying to bait the healer to counter, but I find that incredibly unlikely).

I like House's brashness. Trouble is, without all players checking in before the reaveal, I know what I'd be thinking were I Scum.

My vote was already on Merrid so I'll just leave it there for the time being. Pouncing on my opening post was either Macular Degeneration or Scummy, and Mac isn't playing.

This pun... it hurts. But I chuckled mentally.

So bad it's almost good.

vote Silchas Ruin

Vote 2 on an aggro train on Day 1 is a more reasonable place to look for scum, I agree.

That would appear to be the case.

I suppose if I was playing a 1day 2 weeks game, I'd make sure I was read up each time before I posted, too.

The catch-up posts is a frequent feature because our days are so short (by other boards' standards)

So, interesting things:

Merrid: I can understand his reaction and even the "this'll show him!" residual vote, but the implied passivity (and unwillingness to look beyond Nim) is worrying. IGMEOY.

SR: umm, second vote on a revealed healer: that's just daft. Not only are you voting on the train that Merrid himself expected to get no traction, you are voting a revealed healer . Like, why?

Kilava: not much to say, beyond the fact that they were the first to bring up symp countering. If I put the paranoia hat on, I can see that as scum instructing symp what to do, but that's kinda weak.

I have no read on Denul, which is a bit odd for someone who's posted a bunch, but gave no real opinions that stuck with me., :)

Then there's Nim (whom I chose to trust for now and 4 low-posters/no shows.

Leaning towards SR at the moment, but I need to think on this some more.

Vote Galain

Just the kind of thing I would say when I HAVE read all the posts but don't want to interrupt town shouting at each other.

Disagree. Well, disagree on the parenthetical.

Merrid seems to me to be a truculent adolescent in their rebel without a clue phase that thinks defiance somehow defines them as an individual.

It's cute.

Agreed with weak. More importantly, coaching is something that experienced scum would feel required to do to an inexperienced symp.

Aside from myself, as far as this site goes, who else would fit that bill? If that can't be determined, your speculation is of no use.

Yup.

At the very least, it would be good to pressure them for voting an uncountered role.
