After another read-through of the dragonsex, this interplay between Rashan, Barghast, and Ampelas stood out to me. It reads to me like Barghast is claiming symp (third) to an Ampelas/Rashan pairing with Rashan's reply confirming message received.

Nobody expects any quality from D1 cases and they're treated accordingly. It was just one vote but you felt the need to defend the indefensible. You can try and come up with better instead.

I'd probably vote Kilava but Ampelas reasoning for backing off Osserc is suspicious and I don't feel like following him

Alright, finally got around to my read through. Wading through the Dragonsecks stuff was actually quite enlightening! Initially Rashan looked to be trying to interact with as many people as possible - I find that to be a good technique for town trying to draw reads. Barghast and Ampelas were happy to play along. Jalan and Merrid had an interesting exchange about dog-fantasies, they seemed to fit in OK. But there was one post that didn't really fit with the rest of the conversation, and made me feel like it might have been made by scum trying a bit too hard to blend in:

This one just feels a bit out of place compared to all the other banter that was going on at the time. It's an attempt at wit that fails to land and just isn't bawdy enough to fit with the rest.

Now, Ampelas throws up a bit of a nothing case on Kilava to get things moving. Here's Kilava's response:

For obvious reasons I'm not gonna bother trying to explain why Nimander and Rashan responded as they did. In terms of myself: yes, I'm busy. Not particularly interested in the riveting details of length and girth of Barghast's dick.

Should have some time later, but today's downpour has made it a miserable day so far, not to mention I'm late for work.

The implication here is that Kilava was ignoring all the Dragonsecks RP. But they also tried to take part in it! Seems like a bit of a contradiction. Scum trying to alter history?

At that point they decide the best way to escape Ampelas' attention is to try and cast a vote for a low poster. Trying to copy me? Perhaps seeing how Ampelas moved on that time Kilava thinks the same thing will happen here?

FWIW, I'm not a huge fan of the Barghast or Rashan trains. Both of them have been active and trying to make connections with other players to see what happens when they do a little bantering. That's useful behaviour that I don't think makes them particularly good Day 1 lynch candidates.

Hmm, not convinced by your reasoning Cast. Ampelas has been playing as close to a textbook town game as you can, really. I don't see him being part of a scum messaging ring like you're implying. Barghast and Rashan are less clear cut, but as I've said before I don't really think their banter was all that scummy.

Ampelas has been playing exactly like he usually does. I also see a strong amount of distancing between Rashan and Ampelas towards EOD here. Let me grab quotes.

Rashan has been pointed out in two different accusations of signalling. I'm not big into signalling cases, but when 2 people tell you you're drunk... so I could vote that way. Kilava had a couple of fishy posts, especially the one about brotherhood, so that'a decent candidate for lynch too.

My vote is on Barghast right now but I will give it some more thought and switch before going to bed. I put it there because the main alternative was Rashan and I didn't want to put down a 3rd vote on them just yet and also to gauge reactions to a vote on Barghast. They have an annoying playstyle but my frustration have an anti-correlation with scuminess, so that's a good sign.

I don't see Barghast as scummy, based on the way they have been playing, at least certainly not as a killer. And I have enjoyed their RP. Rashan I have little to no feelings on either way.
