I don't mind Romo, either. He definitely brings a certain new voice to game calling.
I agree with the first point he made about the Pats and their utilization of mental manipulatins prior to their game with Jacksonville.
Example; the talking up of Brady's hand, and how he might not be able to play, or wether he'll wear a glove on his throwing hand. I think they meant to try to make the Jags feel more confident in hopes they become the slightest bit complacent.
After the first half, I think this is exactly how the Jags felt ---- then the Pats turned on the Machine. I wonder how much longer the Machine with Brady and Bellicheck as part will continue to operate.
I'm not sure their dynasty will ever be knocked from being considered the GoAT.

Romo is meh, imo as an announcer so far. And he might as well got on his knees and polished Brady's taint with his tongue with all the praise he kept heaping on him. He annoys me too when a play is being reviewed (like whether the ball was caught or not), he seems too giddy and excited to know the referees' judgment on the matter. Breathe Romo, let silence be natural and part of your skill set as an announcer. You don't have to fill every second with some kind of analysis.
And yes. The Cheatriots play psychological games. I'm sure they will do it these two weeks building to the SB with whether Gronkowski can play or not. But don't be fooled by the Tom Brady thing either. Sure the Pats use psyche games with that, but the Brady thing is also used to push his branding for the TB12 method bullshit he is hanging his hat on after football career is over.
Huh, I'll be damned. Justin Timeberlake is doing the half time show at the Super Bowl. I believe its been announced that Janet Jackson will appear too. Another "nipple gate" that causes all the parents to lose their shit?

Nope, me neither. I love the baseball all star game, the basketball is entertaining for fans and hockey has the skill challenges that are cool.
But football has too many restrictions holding it back from being fun. Nobody wants to get hurt or hurt someone else. And no fan wants to watch bad football played at 70% speed.

Damn AFC. I say this every year and make a liar of myself that I won’t watch this game.
I really wouldn’t lose any sleep if they got rid of this halfass excuse of a Bowl.

Since they moved it to before the Superbowl I always forget about it. I used to watch it after the superbowl as my last taste of Football before the long dark night. But now..Ehhh don't care.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

On SNL Weekend Update segment Saturday night:
Next weekend the Philadelphia Eagles face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. The first Super Bowl where the fans have worse brain damage than the players.
It's funny because it's true.

Tina Fey has a very good Philadelphia area accent in that---turns out she's from the suburbs. It's funny how many people in the area with that accent don't realize that they have an accent.
The Philadelphia accent is hard to learn because it's so ugly and boring that no one would ever want to imitate it. The brain's unconscious mechanisms of imitation recoil.

I've cousins from the area. First time I heard them talk I was like "what the hell are they saying". Things like "yins guys" and "wooder" instead of "water", talk like that.

I'm watching on the BBC here so I don't get any adverts. Good game so far. Couple of misses, great TD, could do either way!

Being in Philadelphia right now, I almost feel obligated to go to a bar---to watch the watchers, at least. Maybe near the end of the game... if I bring my Boring flamethrower under my coat, just in case. Most likely I'll just keep bingeing Britannia (because football isn't violent enough), though....
Hopefully the post-game rioting won't be too much negative publicity for the new DA, who ran on a platform of ending mass incarceration and the death penalty and combating systemic racism in policing and the courts. He sued the police department 75 times as a defense attorney, and the cops would love it if mayhem tonight were to discredit his approach (in fact, I expect a significant proportion of the police to get drunk and riot, win or lose...).

Unfortunately it looks like the heavy freezing rain will let up before the end of the game---though the streets (and poles) may still be icy....
