The only hint was that Tormienne wasn't going to happen, so I guess it's possible they survived. Just seems awfully unlikely.

Okay. A couple more things:
1) Qyburn was quite creepy when it came to the wight. I was all like nooooo don't let that weirdo near it and learn anything about them!
Who knows what it takes to kill FrakenMountain currently, if Qyburn was able to imbue him with wight magic you'd probably have to dice him up into little pieces to destroy him (or use fire or one of them shiny black knives ).
2) From what I remember from the books, The Golden Company are baaaaaaaadasses!
3) I'm calling another scene from next season: Bran wargs army of the dead Hodor and kills one of the NK's White Walker lieutenants. Remember, you read it here first, kay?

Tormund and Beric are implied to be on the stretch of wall that is still standing. They did this by having the Wilding fall when Tormund and Beric stumbled back.
I don't know why you are jumping on their death pronouncements immediately when this show makes it a point to have the named characters get onscreen endings.
The Sam and Bran scene did serve one purpose: to let us know why Bran didn't think this parentage thing mattered to anyone but Jon - he thought Jon was a bastard anyways - and thus didn't tell anyone other than Sam.
How did Sam figure it out? That's the weird thing. We know Gilly read it, but when did Sam do that?

Also the sex scene was "boring" bc it was supposed to be a slow fateful fuck between two equals, rather than a joyous carefree fuck. Remember Grey Worm and Missandei? Same thing, basically.
Plus Emilia Clarke might have a really high nudity $ clause now. So the technical constraints of covering up might apply too.

Because it's ridiculous for anyone to have survived that.

It wasn't the type of sex that made it boring. Their facial expressions were dull; there didn't seem to be any real emotion or passion there at all.

I think they were supposed to be focused on each other, rather than be dull. The eye contact was constant.
Yes, it's ridiculous for anyone to survive that. It's one more thing in a very ridiculous show. But the implied outcome of what was onscreen suggests that the two named characters survived by running far enough in time.

If Bronn can carry Jaime in armor half a mile underwater downstream, Tormund and Berric can run to the side and survive.

Oh Bullshit, they knocked down the wall. What the fuck? What's the point of having a giant impenetrable wall in your fantasy series if you're not going to use it as a bullwark against a tidal wave of undead? Pshah.
Where the hell are they going to have their last stands now? Winterfell? That shitpile couldn't hold out against a bunch of wildlings, let alone all those dead people.
Also, if I was the night king I would Blitz every single capital and army between the Wall and Kingslanding before the knew what happened to them.

The geography of the show seems to suggest an initial fight at Winterfell. The war probably moves all the way down to Kings Landing.
I call the Valonqar to be Arya pretending to be Jaime and killing Cersei before the wild fire is blown up.

Hmm, I guess that actually makes for a compelling season. Have the final season be the combined armies fighting a sustained retreat, holding and relinquishing one castle, city, strong hold after another.
But the Wall!

There really only might be one or two battles with the dead before things are resolved. The final battle could well be at Winterfell. Don't forget how slow the dead move.
6 episodes remaining and some of that is going to be resolving other plot points. Rescue attempt, Golden company, Jamie getting to winterfell and revealing betrayal.
They also quite likely need an episode worth of resolution at the least between the survivors and cersei. Realistically they could even have episode 2 be a devastating battle , and the remaining episodes be about the iron throne.
Or they could go the other way, have the combined army lose at winterfell, have Cersei get forced to try to fight the dead, and have some last remnant of Jon/Dany/etc kill the night king in the nick of time, and Arya/Jamie kill Cersei.

Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish
Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Yep, I also wondered that. I tend to think this is a show-only detail because it's dumb and I blame most dumb things on them. Maybe they thought it would be cool to reference the character who was written out of the show? Dunno.
In the show they never name the dead Targaryen babies I don't think.
In the books part of Dany's vision has Rhaegar calling Aegon the prince that was promised I think, which is presumed to be Aegon by Elia. So if he got some hint/prophecy he may have used the name again

Anyone else notice the weird concerned look on Tyrion's face at the Targaryen love fest?
That could become interesting. Concerned over losing influence? Knows or has figured out more about Jon? Harboured dreams of getting in there himself? (Probably not the last ... Jon isn't his type)

Wasn't Jon born before baby Aegon and his sister were killed? If so, isn't that a massive dick move to annul his marriage and bastardize his two other children?

In the books he was thinking about doing it (never confirmed, of course) because he believed this "dragon has three heads" business referred to his children, and Elia couldn't have any more children.

So how is Danaerys going to react when she realises that Tyrion knew full well that Cersei had no intention of sticking to her word?
I'm a bit miffed that Littlefinger went out so easily with no real final play, but the actual scene was great.

Jon was born after Rhaegar, Elia and the other two kids died. But his Elia, Aegon and the girl died after Rhaegar was killed at the Trident, so annuling his first marriage was really a massive dick move.

Starting to think that when it comes to the matter of succession (as they've already touched on with Tyrion), Jon will abdicate to Dany on the grounds that women shouldn't be excluded from inheritance. It's definitely a theme as the story goes on and all the men are dying. Sansa in Winterfell (not to mention Arya), Asha on the Iron Islands, Olenna at Highgarden, Ellaria/Arianne in Dorne, Cersei in King's Landing, Lysa in the Vale. If gender is taken out of the equation, Dany has the better claim since she was the daughter of the last king, rather than the grandson. Jon is son of the crown prince, but Rhaegar died before Aerys, and that made Viserys the crown prince.

Really, he should know. But it does appear that Cersei played him rather well with the pregnancy thing, and her going back on her word makes me suspect again that she's not really pregnant. I wonder if that's her way of trying to make people reluctant to kill her.
