Hrm, wouldn't it be fornax tenebris or caminus tenebris instead? Surely 'condere' is a verb? Condere tenebris sounds more like 'build in darkness' or something like that. Which sounds more as if you're clueless as to what you are making.

Star Forge
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I know nothing about putting names on to forges and am assuming that it is an easy process. So

Vengeance/Grief Swords of singular will. From Malazan Books of the Fallon.

With a nice stamped picture of a sword.

Blue Style forge (Blue Style produces almost unbreakable blades)
Glory Goat forge (Silchas Ruin's hust sword; the other one was Sarat Wept, so Sarat Wept forge?)

Woah, SRs Hust sword was called Glory Goat? Have you read SEs short story Goats of Glory?

Given what the Forge of Darkness was used to create, a sword with a chain looped around it could work as a mark, if that is not too detailed.

Seems simpler than a burning bridge.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Wow lots of great responses! Quite a few of the these have been taken like cold iron, dragonsbreath, black wing , blackdog .. You get the idea.

A big component will always be the touch mark , it's pure advertising and alway has to be relatable ..... You get it. This is a 50/50 place from general smithing to forging blades , axes before blades. Nordic culture is my prime area. Historic too.

Some are great , but it has to be a mark that makes sense in what? 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch.. You get the idea. Some concepts are too complicated to properly extrapolate to a mark. Like deadhouse.. What a cool concept...I sat there dwelling on a few.

Sometimes I might think its cool, but also essentially represents branding and names are important. Elodin anyone ..like darkness and Bridgeburner forge sound great , but wonder about how that would be viewed. Is darkness too emo sounding .

Witness ( what touchmark... Chains? )
Darkness ( black hole)
Whirlwind( tornado touch mark )
BridgeBurner ( obvious ) < don't feel worthy.

( as a note as funny as it sounds I won't buy a fantasy book with a dragon on it.. Yea I'm that shallow..)

Again doesn't need to be Malazan.. Got me thinking at

If Nordic culture is your prime area what about something like Völundr Forge or somethingt along those lines?

That sounds cool!

I wouldn't personally name it anything too obscure unless it also sounds really cool. Malazan name would be awesome but you don't want non-readers to think you've over done it or trying to hard with the name, if you know what I mean?
