Just finished MT (1st read through). For some reason I thought it wasn't going to be as good as the first four, but I absolutely loved it once into it! Onto the next book!

If you are thinking of mixing Esslemont books in with the Erikson arc, this would be a good time to start. Night of Knives fits very well in the reading order after MT.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I had the exact same feeling, first 200 pages or so were very hard to get into, but after that, MT is one of my favorite books from series.

+ it introduces my favorite character, trull sengar :-)

...and the little intersections with the prior books... the refs to Icarium, the Crippled God as antagonist, the Nascent, Iron Bars and co, Bugg's moment of fury.... are such a treat in context.
