I am undecided still, but leaving soon for the evening, so will do a quick read of the day and make up my mind. I think Tulas is overreacting, but I'm not sure it warrants a vote. I am tempted by Mockra's idea to lynch of the low-posters.

Also, Mockra, what exactly do you mean by this?

The post you're referring to is trying to explain someone's play based on alting attempt. Why is this against the rules?

Vote Tulas

My initial vote on him was random, my next on Aparal was the same but this one is based off people leaning towards Tulas when Mockra makes a move.

Right, so your reasoning is all based on the behaviour of other players. What's your opinion of Tulas' play?

You're the third lowest poster, you know. Be careful what you wish for :apt:
What's interesting about this game is that apart from Aparal Forge, the low posters have actually done something. I had a vote on Alkend on the basis of his play, for example. And I am a little suspicious of you, but you are talking about the game in your posts at least, which is something.

See this rule from the 'General Mafia Rules' thread:

Quote

Players must not:
B7) Post information on the thread relating to another player's past or current activity on (or absence from) the board that would not otherwise be available to anybody reading the thread.

You know I have seen multiple games where a players presence or absence has been correlated with posts in other parts of the forum

I'd say this is subject to interpretation - metagaming is speculation after all. But I see your point and discussing it further doesn't make much sense anyway.

I reread the thread and don't really have a better idea than Tulas right now. They got really jumpy under a very slight pressure and that's not a good sign. Mockra's attempts at directing the thread are no bueno as well, but they're rather aggressive, not sure if scum would play like that D1. So I will stick with the Tulas hunch.

Leaving for drinks, so not sure if I will be around later, will try to drop by the thread before going to sleep tho.

I was hoping by making the joke that we could avoid losing a townie to another stupid lynch.

And attracted a vote instead. Brilliant strategy!

Perhaps it's even more brilliant and both the results are not contradictory at all!

At this point, I'm ok with dying. Yeah, I'd prefer that I live to play a bit longer, but my death gives the detectives something to look into.

Though if you decode top go that route, I will state that being lynched for making a joke about role spec would rank as the dumbest reason you guys have lynched me yet.

Well this post by Tulas points him at being town to be honest and is why I removed him in the first place.

It's not his play that strikes me as scummy but if he was scum that is what he would want me to think. Anyway its Mockra's but after that quick read up Tulas mentioned something so I will go back and check...

It seemed churlish not to offer everyone else the opportunity before diving in. After all, manners maketh man (or in this case, giant dog thing).

You didn't offer anyone anything.

You posted the easiest possible thing that would get you out of "low-poster" accusations 72 hours from now. At the same time putting yourself in a position to accuse others of the same thing. I don't think that's the optimal play for scum (it draws too much attention and it's too amateurish), but it is a lazy way to play town.

The other possibility is that you're the symp of course.

Okay this. No way to prove a symp which is just ridiculous. Hate someone being labelled at something but it wasn't Tulas who said it, he just pointed it out. Ultama did.

I've got to say, Tulas Shorn isn't my first choice here. Gamelon, Ultama and Alkend all feel more like scum to me than him, for reasons I've previously identified. It just feels like too familiar a Day 1 choice - since when has going down this sort of path ended up with us catching scum? If push comes to shove I'll hold my nose and vote for him, but IMO there are better alternatives.

Meh - to me that post is just an attempt to get things going by being deliberately obnoxious (which it did admirably!). And you seemed to take offense to Mockra laying out their choices, but I actually find Mockra's post useful - I know there's that aphorism about how 'scum love lists', but IMO town would do well to learn to love them themselves. Getting a full picture of how other players are feeling about the game (or at least, claim to be feeling about the game) is really handy.

So apparently I'm having tone issues again. That's ok. Like I said earlier, I'd rather live to play longer but my lynch will provide answers to town and close the case on me. I don't want that haunting town into day 2, because it will end up circling back to that.

Listen Tulas you should be fighting to stay alive and help us not just throw in the towel. Unless you are being deliberate or not wanting to play at all.

Your lynch won't be very informative as at this rate you will be lynched only because of your attitude, not anything else.

Stop being suicidal.

To lynch one of the ones you mention you may have to create more of an argument against one. I doubt highly all three would be scum so who is your main choice and why?

As others have said, this is stupid. You have no thoughts about the game? No point of view on the thread? I'm leaning towards seeing you as town, but if you're serious about helping town you should be contributing with ideas and thoughts about who else is scum, rather than just rolling over and dying.

For what it's worth I don't want to give in. I simply think it may be the best way to help town considering my play so far. I'm not trying to rage quit here, It just seems the logical way to help town. I lynch, you get my ci. Once you have that, you guys look more closely at my train and see who may have taken advantage.

My vote is currently on Gamelon. I explained my initial reasoning behind that here. Synopsis - unwilling to put his money where his mouth is. Since then, he has made two posts:

- A defence that he wanted to do a 'quick re-read' before making a vote (which rings a bit hollow since there has been 6 hours since then and the thread is only three pages long, the first of which is mostly just people chatting about the merits of Death Note and Breaking Bad).
- A post trying to talk TS back from the ledge. This is an admirable sentiment that I agree with.

I don't like his reaction to a little bit of pressure. Laughing it off with what sounds suspiciously like a lie. I do like that he's invested in TS providing us with more information than just "Waah, kill me". On net though the former outweighs the latter, since it doesn't take a genius to figure out what a townie would say in this situation. That's why I've got a vote on him.

I did not post anything after the read through as there really wasn't anything that caught my eye except TS

But due to the confusion created by your suicidal tendencies your lynch train would be confused and hence not very informative

OK, well if you're not trying to rage quit then start talking. What do you think about the other players in the game? Who are your suspects?
