Patch, that was so cool, I've extended the moratorium on your brain a whole other month.

Oddly, my biggest kick was the inclusion of an actual Gral. The guy is hunting Dejim. Badass.

Observations:
-Is it coincedence that most of the groups specifically targetted by the old Emperor turn out to later have something to do with the Crippled God (D'rek = Poliel)?
-Banaschar turned up on a ship that looks to be dedicated to D'rek (the carvings).
-T'rolbarahl appear to be the Malazan version of a vampire.
-Spite didn't really want the demon to kill the other Nameless Ones, she just anticipated it happening and got out quickly. Warning the others isn't really the sort of thing you'd expect her sort to do.
-The Gral pissed on his fire. According to HoC, Seven Cities warriors do that when they expect to die.
-Barathol Mekhar is Old Guard, and that's likely not his real name.

...speaking for myself, the timeline issues really aren't...but...i'm not sure the timelines will be 'resolved'..a minor (to my point of view) mistake was made, and to 'fix' it is more effort than it's worth, don't you think?

Very, very interesting. The Gral, like Abyss said, was uber-cool. I'm looking forward to checking out another super-hard bunch of fighters- he thinks he can take out Dejim? Thats gotta put him in Karsa, Iron Bars, Brys etc. category.

As to the Mekhar connection...well he hardly fights like Kalam, what with the full regalia of armour, shield and double-axe. I'm thinking more likely brother than dad too, for some reason. And is Helian RR's dream girl or what? Posted Image

Mmhh, actually Cotillion does say, that Felisin is dead. I was more remembering the description of the actual scene, where it is indeed left not entirely clear.
Of course Cotillion might well err - whatever happened, did so within the influence of Otataral after all.

IIRC there are 6 of the Unbound left after Karsa finished with them.
The others... well there was a bonecaster with them.. and yet all five in the prologue are carrying weapons?

Edit: There were five of the Silanda group left after the sealing of the warren.. one of those Hentos Ilm, carried no weapons

b. 1146 refers to when felisin was born, not when she wrote the poem, which means teh poem was written by felisin the elder... i think.

As for 22nd year of lassens rule... well that depends on whether you see lassens rule stretching from the emperors "death" in NoK (1154), which gives around 10 years or from the time when lassen ruled the empire, which was several years before that, as kel and dancer had gone off elsewhere...

Personally i think it has to be a misprint, if SE had changed the timeline date, ICE would have changed it in NoK?
