The Nacho goal was a cracker. Spain definitely had control and were pressing, I was expecting the goals to start coming for them early in the 2nd half, but they didn't. What do you guys think of the replay?

France and Australia. Traded penalty kicks (stupid hand ball by France). And then Pogba came through late to give France 2 to 1 victory.

Up next Argentina v Iceland. Which is the match today that I am most excited to watch. Come on Iceland!

HE used the be the goalkeeper of my team: NEC Nijmegen. How time flies.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I was low-key watching the Iceland game at work and nearly screamed when they scored. And judging by my Icelandic friends on Facebook, they're a whole lot happier than Argentina are right now...

In 2016, Iceland tied against Portugal, 1-1. Ronaldo took 10 shots, no goals. Today, Iceland tied Argentina, 1-1. Messi took 11 shots, no goals

Ronaldo and Messi vs. Iceland: 21 shots conceded, no goals.

Welp, both Peru and Nigeria have the exact same problem- capable of creating solid chances, but no finishing.

Missed the Icland game (because sleep), but watched the other two.

Solid chances for Croatia now, just need to hold strong against Argentina on Thur.

Tomorrow's got two really interesting matches, as Germanhy and Brazil are my picks for finalists (as they almost always are)

In fairness, Argentina have a history of not doing well when small islands are involved......

^^^ Ha, I see what you did there.

I know we're only two days in, but Iceland's goalie is player of the competition so far.

Gulp, one of my favs, Mexico, plays tomorrow against Germany. And my absolute fav, Sweden (in same group as Mexico and Germany) plays too, against South Korea.

If Switzerland beats Brazil, then the beginnings of a magical World Cup are in motion.

Mexico sure did play with a lot of heart. Damn, I was sweating bullets there near the end. Come on Mexico!

Hats off to Mexico! This was a well-earned win.

I am a bit gutted for Germany though.

I would love to see some major upsets like some big teams not even progressing. Throw it wide open!

GG, Switzerzerland. That was exciting.

Brazil is looking more composed in the back and in general more of a team than 4 years ago. But they still get rattled pretty easily. Hard to believe Swiss were able to take the initiative like that in the 2nd half.

Today, England takes the pitch for the first time this World Cup. Against Tunisia. Should be a slam dunk for England, right?

You guys pumped or what?

Slam dunk is a bit much especially seeing other results in the tournament. Tunisia had a good preparation to the tournament ( draw against portugal, nearly kept spain to a 0-0). They are quite a creative side, but if England dominates possession that is not going to help them. So overall this should be a good opponent to kick off against. England needs a solid result to settle themselves and the homefront.

I predict a slow drag of a game but I think we'll just about scrape a 1-0 win.

I am saying 3-0. If England manage to score early it will become a walkover.
