I think you are mistaking equality with fairness. In a fair society all people have a right to be heard and right to speak as they please. However at some point one or two things happen.

1. People stop listening because clearly this loud individual is unreasonable and cannot be argued with. At which point the person becomes a bothersome obstacle in your day to day routine but something you can ignore.

2. People decide that maybe this particularly individual should not be heard and in fact, people might be better off if this person was not to be seen or heard. At which point the person is either tarred and feathered and kicked to the city curb or a deep dark hole is prepared.

Now you, Mal, keep vacillating between two extremes in your stance on your own behavior. At one point claiming that the forum needs somebody like you to call us on our bullshit. And that for the forum to be a good place we should be more like you.

On the other hand you also keep challenging the moderators to do something. Banhammer you, smack you down, show you where the limits are. That zenit might be approaching. Similarly you want people to listen to you but people don't really feel a point in continuing the debate because when people make a point you just deflect or call them dumb.

The truth is that there is a social order in any gathering with two people or more. And you are excluding yourself from that order. You want to abolish that order but it is more likely that you are the one that will be abolished.

And that is the nature of all human interaction. You cannot claim to be protected by the rules if you do not play by them.

You don't get to stifle opposing voices in the way that you have without also inspiring revolt. It's just human nature and history will agree. It's disappointing that you'd imagine that you could get away with it - well it's actually a sad comment on the current membership who are apparently willing to put up with what is an obvious and egregious tyranny. This is fertile ground for me and I will make that plain to you in the coming weeks as soon as the next herd of goats are delivered and I get my camera set up.
