Yeah, the Christopher revelation was a humdinger! Especially because Thanatos (Teddy J) can't fathom how he is possible. I'm wondering how the Adora plot line will end up.

My fave bit so far though, is easily the Erra/Seriramis/Kate plot point. Especially convincing Erra that she needs to help Kate because Roland will destroy the bloodline. The whole scene afterwards with her being the sentient dagger (Rose of The Tigris), and Curran and Derek slamming into each other as they fly through her incorporeal presence...HILARIOUS. But yeah, having a greek god avatar on her side and now her aunt Erra as an advisor as well? This is shaping up to be EPIC!

Yeah Kate is getting an impressive entourage of her own. Erra as a knife adviser is extremely hialrious especially given the reactions she provokes.

I'm impressed by a few developments with regards to her powers. The fact that she didn't know she was speaking another language when using them, the fact that the blood is enough to enthral people (Adora), and how that affects those around her. It's also interesting to see her reacting to the things she says and does with regards to her power sand claim on Atlanta. When Erra explains why that is, I like that she has to fight against it hard internally. It heightens the stakes of the whole thing.

And don't you just love it when Curran loses his shit? This book has a lot of my favourite Curran moments

Picking up the entire banquet table while sitting
Chucking around boulders to work through his frustration
Fighting through a blizzard of attacks to basically hulk smash Hugh

Which is terrifying. I like that Kate is facing this though. Her magical power has been on a steady uptick and its appropriate that the consequences are now coming.
I also thought of something else. Curran is a First. The First's have a very primitive and deep connection with the land and its spirits. Kate now also has a connection to the land. They are becoming a bit similar aren't they?

After reading a book I usually give it a rating on my kindle. Most of this series got 5 stars. After finishing Magic Binds I gave it 3 stars as I don't think it was good as they rest of the series.

Still a lot of fun though. I do not know if I missed a book because ...

Roman felt like more of an important character than previous books, Teddy Jo also seemed like Kate's bezzie which felt a bit out of the blue. The plot/story went way too quickly at times, like the battle at the end. It did not really show what changed the prophecy. Was it just her taking her Aunt to Mishmar and bringing her back, was that what changed everything?

also Julie seems like a new character, who I don't know at all.

The old lady investigative story line I loved, it was just so good! Adora and the Sahanu plot line was fantastic as well, Adora could well become a favourite character of mine.

The strength of Christopher when he sees Teddy Jo, that is some going! He looks like a fucking monster! Fucking strong and scary!

Nice touch with naming Baby B

The meeting with Chernobog was great.
