OK, I admit it, I would be down for a Hugh book... and the Kate sequel.

The story about the Hugh book is actually pretty funny. It was the April's fool post on her blog I think in 2015 and there was a HUGE blowback on her blog about people really wanting to read it. I think this is one of the major reasons she had Roland kick Hugh out. Without that, I dont see how that book could exist. I think she said started working on it last year. She posted a few snippets on her blog and it looks like it will be a really fun read. I just hope he will stay a jackass.

Yeah, I'd like for it to be a kind of supernatural Flashman type scoundrel book.

MAGIC TESTS - short Julie story circa book 6. Cute, no t particularly important. Notable for one supporting character who might be important down the road.

...
Authors blogposted a blurb from MAGIC TRIUMPHS (i think) that suggests i was not off base with this prediction.

Ok, I'm about 45% into MAGIC BINDS. I've avoided the last couple pages to avoid spoilers, but I simply have to say that Roman is hands-down my favorite side-character in the series. His giddy wedding-planning in this book is a very welcome balance to all of the what-the-fuckery going on with pretty much every other character.
Side note: Ah! THAT'S what Christopher is. I can't say I saw that one coming.

Roman became a LOT of fun in this book, tho i did like him in the novellas where he's hitting on Andrea the whole time.

Yeah, there were a handful of hints which in retrospect kind of make sense, but really just suggested there was something to him, not what it was. I can't say they really set that up so much as pulled it off.

Which was HILARIOUSLY not smart. LMAO.

From the blurb it seems like it may not be the type of big showdown I was expecting. Something about a third force

Alright guys, I'm finally caught up. Overall, I'm really enjoying the series despite it's flaws. There has been plenty of discussion as you what they're doing right with the series, so I'll limit my commented here to what I see as my personal flaws with the books.
1- I went through the books in Audio format like Abyss did. I really enjoyed the lack of descriptive sex scenes in the first few books. I was even ok with the fade-outs they've pulled a couple times, but I just don't want to listen to 5 solid minutes of poorly written thrusting and grunting. Please please make it stop.
2- Why in the hell does nearly every character have crazy plot armor. Dali and Mahon should have died in this last book. I mean in a battle the size that was described here, the injuries to important characters boils down to Mahon getting really sick and Barabas having his legs broken. Really?
That said, I'm REALLY looking forward to that Hugh book coming up.

Dali is straight up fan service and I hate reading her parts.

Counterpoint: Dali is a well developed character very different from the rest of the cast and Amphi was bitten by a white tiger as a child.

Awe. Some.
More later, but those of you following this series should really, really, read IRON AND MAGIC before this.
