How should I have known that there will be no nightkills?

We were 14 players. So I initially thought about three teams with an uneven distribution or three normal teams + two hunters. Could be between three and five players with kill abilities. But five is probably too much. Normally every team should have a guard and/or a healer. With three players with nightkill it could be possible that the right persons were guarded or healed.

Or, as we are talking about vampires, they maybe recruited someone. Which would lead to a completly different setup.

I did not know that there would be no night kill. How should I have known that? It makes no sense. I just thought that we would get no other lynch than Anomandaris today. My mistake was to write kill instead of lynch.

With the no-reveals clause, there's little Demelain can say at this point to counter this, even if they were a student. Even then, what Fanderay pointed out makes this more than enough to lynch them on day 2 of the game, imho.

One minor caveat: from the language (kills, hunters) it seems they are fairly new to Malazan mafia.
It might also be that a faction set-up with a large town (student) faction vs versus various smaller, high powered ones that caused them to slip like this, mistaking the set-up for perhaps a more equal distribution.

I am not going to vote yet, we are still early-ish in the day and we have nothing to win by a mad pile-up, but I consider a Dem-vote a good vote (also in the US elections).

I only have a limited window to post most days, and this is it.
I also never said I hate day 1 silliness, I said that this game's day1 banter was boring. I wish for the return of the great days of dragonsecks.

Also , so far today, I think Demelain looks like a headless chicken running around, which leaves me really conflicted. On one side, he really seems to be part of a less than friendly faction, on the other hand, he seems so incompetent I'm pretty sure leaving him alive would lead us to anyone else that he knows on his team.

So I have to choose between killing an unknown agent who very likely has a NK or sitting on him and waiting for further slips. Let's just say that I will hammer a lynch train on Dem for now, but won't join before that point unless further information comes to light.

However, I do have to say that Demelain's initial slip up was very likely just that, a slip. I know I have written kill instead of lynch in a post before. His reaction though paints him in a really suspicious position.
