Okay, you're fishing for information and, you know what, I'll bite. I think if anyone goes over my posts, they will be able to distil it anyway.

The thing started with me being suspicious of you protecting Gait. Gait hasn't done much on thread, so if you are, then you probably have off-thread info on Gait being in your faction. I don't, so that makes me think you're not in my faction and that Gait is an important figure in your faction.

Now, if I'm wrong about you trying to protect Gait, then I don't have any reason to believe you or Gait are in the opposing faction, as the sole reason for thinking that was the protection thing.

Mafia goes nowhere if no one ever takes any risks. It's a team game. One of the biggest issues with mafia here is people avoiding all risks because they value their own skin above the team.

Uesugi Kenshin crumples the report in his fist and flings the parchment to the side. Circumstances have changed so quickly, clearly this battle at Kawanakajima will not end the same as the first conflicts between he and the Takeda. The fighting here is more desperate, fiercer, and more deadly. He has just lost the general of his reserves to two well shot arrows. Worse still, one of the arrows appears to have been from an Uesugi archer. An accident, to be sure, but if such poor luck continues then surely the god of war would be sorely disappointed. Gripping his prayer beads until his knuckles whitened from the strain, Uesugi closed his eyes and offered fervent prayers to his favored god. When he was finished, his eyes flew open with a fire kindled within them. With great haste, new messengers were dispatched with important orders which he believed would spell Takeda doom.

Ultama has been lynched. He was Yasuda Nagaide (Vengeance) of the Uesugi.


Takeda Nobushige watched the confusion ripple through the soldiers of the Uesugi Center. He desperately wanted to pursue and crush those troops while they remained leaderless, but his soldiers had just been engaged by the left side of the Uesugi line, with fresh troops riding in to support. Nobushige had kept an eye on Yamamoto Kansuke at his rear, to be certain whether or not he would continue to receive support from the reserves. However, as he suspected, Kansuke had moved the support of his reserves to help the relatively weakened left side of the Takeda lines. Without Kansuke's support, Nobushige saw that he would be hopelessly outnumbered by the combined Uesugi battle group that had arrived in front of him so he gave the order for a tactical retreat. In this brilliant move, he bloodied the Uesugi nose and received no significant casualties in response.

Away from the center, the right and left flanks of the Uesugi and Takeda respectively engage in a bitter battle, neither able to take advantage of the other.

I've got a pretty good idea on what's happening on thread. I'm wondering how much it actually plays into the scenes though. If we lynch a player, do his forces then disappear from whatever map Shin has drawn up? Thus, we have to tactically identify where we are on the map, where our teammates and enemies are, and then somehow manage to turn that into a useful lynch for our team.... This doesn't really seem like a faction game other than there are teams.

Seems like a stalemate now unless someone votes for their own team members on accident and we manage a lynch that way.

It's one thing identifying who's in your faction and who isn't, quite another level of difficulty identifying who exactly (in terms of individual character) they might be.
