I don't feel all that much better tbh. If anything, I've just got more paranoid over the course of today.

Well, I'm off to bed, so Shin will probably be along in five minutes. Night all.

As his aides began to strike the camp Takeda Shingen walked away from his command pavilion without looking back. This battle was over, it was now time to look to defense in case Kenshin decided to press his advantage. He doubted it though, Kansuke would give a good showing and Kenshin's forces would be too reduced to follow this season.

Takeda grimaced as he climbed onto his horse. Four battles of Kawanakajima. Four times turned back. The Tiger of Kai, who had never lost a battle, must now cede the field to the Dragon of Echigo. It was a bitter taste, but now it was time to return to governance of Kai. Maybe the Fujiwari to the South would finally be ready to submit....

----------------------------------

Uesugi Kenshin surveyed the battle field. The fallen scorpion and "FuRinKaZan" banners were like a beautiful poem before his eyes. Surely the god of war was pleased with his earthly avatar. Takeda Shingen would not soon dare march this far North again. Not soon, anyways. Perhaps it was time to push his advantage South. Shingen no doubt thought him reduced, but without the great Yamamoto Kansuke fighting for him, the Takeda would not be as formidable as they once were. Surely the Uesugi had an advantage that they had best enjoy, and quickly.

For now though, it was time to regroup and take stock of what troops remained, and how many could further troops could be called up. The "Dragon of Kai" sounded better. Yes...much better.

Denul has been lynched. He was Yamamoto Kansuke (Tatts) of the Takeda

The Uesugi have won the 4th battle of Kawanakajima. Congratulations

Ah, we've lost :p

Congrats Uesugi for slaughtering us on the battlefield. It was fun to watch the end game.

Thanks Shin for the beautiful game set-up.
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.'

'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master — that's all.'

Trust Hiddeon One to get the leader role. He always survives until the end of the game, always. Knew it was him with his little one liners.

Well played everyone at the end there! Well done Grief and HD for not falling for Tatts' crap :p

I thought Takeda had us, but a couple of tactical errors on the battlefield swung it back around.

Thanks, though my PMs to Path-Shaper paint a shakier picture. I felt like you played the end well, just you were unfortunate with having pushed hard on the Uesugi leader so it was always going to be tough to turn that around. Especially given that Korlat was my second choice, and HD likewise had focussed in on you two (good play there too).

I was getting paranoid about Korlat-Telas as a possible pair (hence deliberately voting the opposite of HD's choice), because they'd both played a solid hard to read game , but I would've hated to lose by second guessing myself and going for the more paranoid choice. Lots of people were very hard to read this game. I feel like Uesugi actually benefitted a lot from the Gait train in the end, since it was good information for us that the Takeda weren't necessarily able to use. I was worried about Uesugi falling behind and then quickly getting a string of lynches through connecting me/Gait/Denes etc.

I felt like everyone at the end played well (though I was frustrated by HO drawing a train for low activity). In fact, the game standard generally felt pretty high. Though I felt the Hanas lynch being easy to hop onto kind of de-railed people from actually trying to do all that much for a bit (the Gait train kickstarted things, but if it hadn't had the misfortune to pick a leader I'm not sure it would've). In a way, I felt the game setup also made it hard for people to do all that much on thread, because everyone needed to come to their own conclusion and you couldn't really explain your reasoning to people until D-Day. The lack of a common enemy makes it hard to make cases (or to attach a plausible excuse to something you want to push for other reasons).

Shout out to whoever was killing it with the NA's too, because it wasn't me.

Apologies to Venge for de-railing onto you. By the end of the train, I was actually less happy with my choice. I didn't want to go for someone who'd been on the Gait train for fear of emphasizing that connection, but in hindsight I think that I probably could've gotten away with choosing someone like Emur, rather than you who I didn't have much read on. At the same time, I had to de-rail onto someone...

There was also an annoying trend of players on my team dying very shortly after I became pretty sure they were on my team. Blend and Khell both did this, and it sucked.

I enjoyed the game a lot. Big thanks to the people running it, especially given how much effort the modding seems to have taken with the complexity of the game and the detailed scenes etc.

I'll go move the spoiler thread.

Heh, that's why I stole it.

Though I've been meaning to change back for a while, just haven't bothered.

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

It wasn't my lynch that I was irritated about it was the timing of it. I had just inherited the Vangaurd after Blends death and had a double arrow attach that I was going to use two spaces in front of me before I smashed into the Enemy's Vanguard. My attack was at 4.5 so the double arrow would have put it at 9 and completely crushed Tatts support. Leaving the Vanguard to take a serious beating. Putting us up by 2 and almost in control of lynches and definitely in control of the war. So you just denied me killing tatts and dragged the game out for an extra week. :p
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Yeah, it was definitely unfortunate in hindsight. Given the two Takeda lynches at the start, it would've been very big to lynch Takeda at that point. I did come close to pushing Emur or Denul there too, but I was just concerned it would be too blatant in terms of OMGUS voting for the Gait train. If we'd have lost, it's definitely the moment I'd be kicking myself over most, since it'd be a big shift in numbers even without the NA aspect. I didn't think people would follow the vote so easily (nor that people would kick up so little fuss over it de-railing, which surprised me); if I'd known that, I'd probably have voted one of my stronger suspicions.

On the plus side, I got to lynch Tatts. It's nice to argue with him and actually not be on his team for once.

I also definitely overestimated the importance of being a "General" at the beginning. I figured it would be a more important role, rather than almost this games equivalent of RI (which I later picked up on more).

Good game everybody. I was basically waiting for Gait to give me more info with a vote but realized it wasn't going to happen. And Tatts went crazy end-game panic posting which sealed the deal.
