Or as you try to grip dust, it pours through your fingers till your hand is basically empty.

Ugh did you say April 5th? I think there's gonna be a conflict there, since that's when I'm releasing the first in my erotic fantasy trilogy Rimbalance: Bulge of Bushes (followed by Grope of Arses and the explosive finale, Friction of DaLube).

Well, good luck, and may the best man win.

You know you're famous when porn parodies emerge even before your books are released.

This was exactly what I thought! We should all just get out there and get busy making porno spoofs of our serious works ahead of time. Guaranteed sales.
My wife even laughed at those and she's a prude ;)

Quick update:

Any of you following Maark's novel may have heard that the publishing company he and I belonged to imploded as everything went haywire last week. Drop by his thread and wish him well. It's a rotten thing to have the delight of being chosen only to have said delight rescinded.

As for my IMBALANCE series, it is still a go. Having waited four months and still being on the slate for production, the publisher is helping me produce Purge of Ashes for April 5th as promised. Besides the time crunch of needing to be done today / tomorrow and us still having a ton of work to do at 1:50am, it is shaping up quite well. Just like Maark, the rights have been returned to me - making me a free agent - but the book itself will publish under the imprint of the publisher nonetheless.

My cover comes soon. I will be posting a few new threads in the immediate future.

Where do I find your book? I can't find it anywhere on the realmwalker website. I click on printed books and only about 8 books come up and when I click on ebooks nothing shows up.

The release got bumped a day AND THANK GOODNESS because we concocted a far superior cover in that time.
That said, I'm not sure Realmwalker will host it as such... based on the changes going on with them.
You will be best served by Amazon and it should be up and running tomorrow morning!

I will make an announcement when it happens. Thanks for your support! I'm excited!

I replied to Whisperzzzzz via DM, but here it is in case anyone else still remembers dear Purge of Ashes:

Quote

Hey man. I'm 120k into the sequel... which is basically halfway in my plans - but I got hit with writer's block really hard on a chapter I expected to breeze through, and have barely written. I don't want to release #1 (again) until I know #2 will be done and ready sometime not too far from said release day... but having #1 sitting on a shelf just hurts since it's, well, ready. But I can't justify releasing it when I am unable to produce word count. Right around the time this happened my son was born with 4 anaphylactic allergies and global delay among 4-5 mental and physical ailments. So it's hard to find the time.

Just yesterday I thought I'd found a solution to my chapter 12 woes, but I need to round the idea out. If it works, hopefully I can get back into it again. I like what I have.

Thanks for checking, mate. Helps to know there are a few people who remember.

So the short is I'm struggling. But writing is a long game and I promised I'd never quit. So I won't. I will rerelease with $ covers and maps first Purge, then the sequel Grip of Dust, when Grip is done. Hope to hell I can crank out #3 before everyone forgets. I'm 20k into #3 via storylines cut from Grip.

I do have two short stories from the world of Imbalance (and half a third) which I'm happy to toss anyone for free. "Residue" is about a practitioner and his grumbly assistant on a trek to perform an experiment, and "Rag the Grenadier" is about a lowlife in Crux hunting other lowlifes in Crux. It came 2nd in a Negative HP short fiction contest but is no longer published on site. There's a YouTube video of me reading it live here as well.

I feel you Joel. I still struggle mightily with Ageless at times (maybe we got the post-RW blues still?). I am excited to see Purge come out properly though, got my hopes up a bit when I saw your post get a bump hahaha. Keep plugging man, you'll get there!

Hold out and maybe one day! I have extra copies of my original release - but can't in good conscience sell it since one editor, 6 beta readers, and 10k words were cut much to the improvement of the story :p
