Let the mix settle for a few hours at least before pouring it in to the pan. Have a thin mix and use it sparingly, tilt the pan to get a good coverage.

Use lard not any of these modern greases to coat the pan.

As soon as the door opened the clerk heard a gunshot and looked back up in time to the see the suit spin around, clutch his left shoulder and fall to his knees. Years later he would occasionally wake up in a sweat reliving what came next: the suit's face just exploding towards the floor. He never could decide whether he actually saw the end of the shotgun barrel through the gaping wound or if his mind simply added that later once the shock started to wear off.

A blurred, low resolution video feed fades into view. The shot is high angle, probably second storey and shows an outline that can just be distinguished as Fener moving close to an alley. Fener pauses, looks up and down the sidewalk, and darts into the passage. You notice the post-dating of the feed, clearly this happened a night before

The view flickers between a selection of nearby cameras, eventually settling on an apartment caller entry feed. The view is of a short series of steps and the full width of the sidewalk and nothing more. Concentrating a little you can pick out voices from the adjacent alley

"...you threatening me? Why would you do that, I'm a blogger, a nothing. I'm small fry. It's not like anyone believes anything I tell them anyway. You came to me remember?"

The voice that responds is heavy and clearly used to being obeyed. No small-town cop this one. Maybe Federal? The listener cannot but feel intimidated

"Listen little guy, listen good. Someone took a pop at me last night and I don't like that. I've got my own agenda here and I don't need trouble from jerks like you. Try and call a hit on me I shoot back and I shoot to kill. Put the word out. I want you all to follow my lead, do exactly what I say."

Fener can be heard making desperate assurances that he will of course

"So why did you contact me then if not to give me information to pass on anonymously?"

The figure growls. There is the sound of a meaty punch landing and a squawk from Fener followed by the sound of a body hitting the floor. The caller feed shows a shadowy figure stride away from the alley and into the dark night. A few minutes later Fener staggers into view bruised and dishevelled. He starts to cross the view before realising this is the way the agent went and crossing back

Fener has just started a call to a contact, the cheap cell clearly has trouble picking up his voice as he has to talk loudly

He hangs up, sighs, and answers the new call

"Hawaii Fener-O ... yes, that's me. Can I ... no okay, no names. I quite understand. What were you ... hang on, let me get this straight. You found a cell on a dead body and this number was the last number dialled? So that means my source is dea...I mean, no I can see why that would be suspicious. ... He was shot? Give me a call in an hour and we'll talk."

The call ends and Fener puts the cell carefully on a soda can.

"Well that was certainly an interesting night. That'll teach the bastard for punching me even if he was straight up. Second time lucky for the shooter I guess."
