In the haunting light of dawn, one Wizard knelt alone before Allugath. He muttered the incantations of his spell feverishly, over and over, gathering power. Naught but hours had passed since another Elemental had been destroyed, but his eyes darted to the Rogues in the grassy valley, the Barbarians across the fields, and to his own holy tribe on the hilltop behind him. All seemed but confusion now, as if he could recognize none of them. His spell began to take shape.

From the hilltop, another Wizard yelled. "He summons the Cleric! Betrayal! Betrayal!" Already a Barbarian rode the Wizard down, one swoop of his mace ending the spell and the Wizard both. Some gathered to turn the corpse, strangely burned, but the Wizards were distraught to see the face of their Elite, his own crystal glass still clutched in both hands. The Barbarian spat on the ground and sped away as the rest of the Wizards stared in dismay.

Aparal Forge has been lynched. He was Miracle Max, the Elite Wizard, and LinearPhilosopher.

It is now Night 2. Resolution underway.

Night fell early over Allugath on the second day, some wondering at the Cleric's power, some slavering at his challenge. A lone rogue slipped away, senses finely tuned, watching the city gates with rapt attention. He would have stumbled right into the other man creeping along in the weeds if not for the sound. Silently, the rogue grabbed the man's neck and drove his dagger deep into his back. "You're mine," the rogue smiled. But the man fell apart in his hands and light flared across the plains. "AGAIN?!" the rogue shouted, loud enough to be heard at every campfire within sight of Allugath. He sighed as he dropped the shards and crept back to the others.

Shadow is dead. He was a Conjured Elemental.

It is now Day 3. 48 hours remaining.

Well now that was an interesting day.

Nice slip up by AF leading to a speed lynch. Normally I would hate that sort of thing, wanting everyone to get a chance to get their orders in however this time I am glad.

Why you ask?

Well, my question to you all is this - in a game where PS explicitly states you may lose control of your alt did none of you question my absence on thread.

You see in the Night phase my alt was taken over by someone else. Do the entire (short) Day I was banished from it and someone else had login abilities to it. The information available to them was limited admittedly but in that whole Day they could have totally fucked me over, made me say anything they wanted on thread, lynched myself etc.

Now as it happens they didn't post from me. I am glad. But also slightly disappointed - because then I'd have a post or more to work from to alt whoever did that to me. So beware, someone out there can and will steal your alt from you at will.

From this day onwards I will be encrypting a message in a post. At the start of the next Day I will decrypt it. If I do not/cannot decrypt it then I am again possessed. I would suggest others do likewise.

Now PS didn't let much slip but I do know that if the possessed alt dies the original host dies too. So attacking the possessed isn't a useful course of action.

Needless to say I was pissed at this happening to me, even though I suspect it was mainly down to me claiming to be inimitable. There are a few who could give it a good go. There are others who would deliberately do it badly. Alas no posts means I don't know which way they would have gone.

Once I saw that Aparal Forge was going to dominate you. I figured something was up that was why I was trying to get you to say something.


I like your idea of coded messages, but anyone could take code and make it look how ever they wanted.

For example yours could be.

I like ducks on a pond.

There is nothing in your code to prove or disprove that.

Then the person who is controlling your alt would say see guys that is how my coded message works. I have had better look posting a partial quote and then finishing the sentence the next day and what book and page the quote is from.

Such as this.

"I have slept in the presence of corpses often enough, especially while i was in the marines,"

I will finish the quote and provide the book and chapter. It is on my phone so the pages are different then they would be in a real book.

That's better. So that string is the MD5 hash for a text statement. Unless you know exactly what the statement is you will be unable to duplicate it. You cannot reverse engineer it.

You are correct. I have never tried that before. But it pulled up the exact quote immediately. Bummer. It does the same with a middle of the sentence newspaper article. That is irritating.

Gait, before you try claiming you were possessed in D1 into making that slip think on this - it was a Night action. It was Day 1 you made the slip. We don't do N0 phases here therefore you cannot have been possessed by the same mechanism.

Copy the code from the "String hash:" box into thread.
