Funny you should make that mistake, I was thinking similar on the drive to work. I'll have to compare posting styles when I get home as the two have a similar feel to them from what I remember and without reading back on my phone.

I think with Gait we either get someone with 3 Alts, or someone that can jump them. Either scenario looks like a win to me. Since the Gait post looks like a mistake, it seems to be the most likely choice.

Gait looks like he slipped but was that intentional?

Bek seems to get a lot of pressure and then Tholen comes out of the woodwork and then Gait "slips", I think all three should be looked at, they're definitely linked. I don't see why you would just throw away 3 of your alts on day one.

Let's say someone can temporarily take over alts and he wants to get person X lynched. In addition, he has multiple body doubles. He takes over X and creates a shitstorm of posts back and forth between the doubles, then takes over/slides in X to 'slip'.
We lynch X, and tomorrow it turns out X is not the alt jumper because it happens again.
Lots of work for one trick you might not be able to repeat - but if it was one, it was very well executed.

So, this kind of sounds like a genuine slip. Which in turn makes you wonder: if you're jumping between alts and have your main open in a different browser or incognito window (to look at the other alt-passwords in the Role PM), why do you keep an additional tab open on the game thread, instead of only the Messenger? It's like staring down the barrel of a gun to see if it is loaded. The other alts already end up witnessing the game thread, anyway, so why tempt yourself to begin with?

I can answer that one I think. Not paying quite enough attention to which browser is which.

So you have main alt and 2 fakes. Because you're a bit tech savvy you can have 3 open simultaneously. You do so because after all one is your main alt for the game and you've posted with it 90min ago and are no doubt gearing up for some interesting discourse on thread with whoever rises to the bait of BO/Tholen. You're switching browsers fairly fast between the two fake alts but you've double checked every time and are getting confident you can pull it off now. You post from BO, then Tholen, then BO, switching between browsers each time. Here's the snag; you switch browsers again because you're in the habit now and you forget for a moment you were intending to double post with BO so click away and get the wrong alt. Perhaps you check out the vote count with Gait to see if BO has a vote down on me (he does) and you go straight to the reply box with the remove post. All it takes is a slight slip and it is done.

If you have your normal account in one browser and the game alt in another and are browsing the forum in both how many times have you nearly posted in the game thread in the wrong one or have posted elsewhere in a game alt?


In other news I'm not seeing the link I thought between Gait and Serc. I guess that means it was based entirely on them both having beef with me.

Given the number of people who mistakenly posted from their forum account, I'd say it's not a rare mistake to make. Even given the fact that most true forum accounts have different skins set than game alts, mistakes still happen. In this case, the skin setting are probably the same, increasing the probability of losing track of the window your in, especially if you're switching rapidly from alt to alt (so window to window) to create a "conversation" among them. So it wouldn't surprise me if the slip was simply that, a slip.

Of course BO/Gait/Tholen shows us where some fakes are. Of more concern is that this means that 7 alts have less posts than any of the fakes. Only 2 of them can be other fake accounts. That's 5 people hardly participating.

I am giving consideration to the Gait possession possibility however am not as yet seeing a way of dealing with this.
