On the other hand, if he is in the boat moored off King's Landing still, how did the Sand Snakes catch up and sneak aboard?

There are 8 of them total, and those two weren't in the scene on Dorne.

Only 3 in the show, and those two were on the dock watching him leave at the end of last season. Possible they followed on another boat and then snuck aboard, just unexplained by the story.

The boat got into the harbor like a few feet in that scene. I'm guessing they swam out and snuck aboard.

This is a fuckload of guessing when they could have just shown an establishing shot for 3 seconds of how the Snakes got onboard. Sure beats the awful showdown scene where they actually kill Trystane.

The Snakes irritate me more than normal because the writers/directors/actors don't really know how to fight. There's a clear difference between what happens with Brienne and what happens with them.

This is them not pandering to you as an audience member. They assume you don't need to see every little detail to put it together yourself. It's a waste of screen/script time.

If you show me Batman on a dock watching a boat depart, and then next episode show me him aboard the boat and is kicking ass...I really don't need to do much to figure out how that happened.

Maybe I need to watch it again, but the Sand Snakes didn't look very wet if I remember correctly. Unless they swam aboard, air dried or toweled off and changed clothes, and then confronted Trystane.

Batman has a futuristic billionaire's access to jet plane technology. This is apparently pre-gunpowder medieval level tech.

The Dorne thing either breaks the timeline a bit by having the boat return to Dorne from dropping Jaime off at the beginning of the episode or they somehow sneak on board a departed ship, stay there for Tmurder Trystane in King's Landing, which is a fucking long time to take an assassination trip and a weird place to kill Trystane without the communications from fellow coup players back in Sunspear several days sail away.

It's a weird presentation. That's it. The show is still overall fairly cool. But this was a series of bodged-in and hurried up events. The next few should go smoother.

They would ev had plenty of time to dry off from Dorne to KL I promise

So they sneaked on board near Dorne and managed to stay hidden on a tiny ass boat for the entire journey?

Trystane was definitely on the ship at King's Landing. As to why they left him on the ship, I have no idea. As to why Obara and Nymeria followed him all the way to King's Landing, or stowed away on the ship, I have no idea. I think Ellaria and Tyene were waiting for the news of Myrcella to reach Doran to kill him, and I guess the plan was to kill Trystane away from Dorne but they had to wait for Jaime to leave the ship, or something. Maybe it has something to do with Bronn and we'll find out next week?

Anyway, here's a screenshot of the ship in the harbor in the Jaime scene, then the ship in the harbor in the Trystane scene, and the eyes that Trystane was painting, presumably for Myrcella's body. FYI, they were furling the sails during the Jaime scene; I could have taken another shot at half-mast.

I think they left him on the ship because there's a real fear he would be slaughtered by Cersei near-immediately upon hearing Myrcella was dead. Just pragmatism, he's safer there than in KL.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Also, I meant to mention that the Dany scene makes more sense to me upon rewatch. In the finale of last season, all the horses were riding in a circle around her. That seemed kind of showy and unnecessary at the time, but it explains how Jorah was able to find her ring so quickly; there's a quick shot which I had missed the first time, when he and Daario approach the place where Dany was taken which shows the circle of horse tracks. The area in the center was fairly small, and it makes sense that he searched that area first. It just doesn't explain why Dany bothered to drop the ring.

So apparently Jaime's letter to Doran is actually visible and readable: Here it is

Seems like Jaime wanted to do the decent thing, and this explains why Trystane was on the ship

What is that even from? I don't remember the letter ever having been laid out like that.

Not sure about the legitimacy but none of the top comments seem to have challenged it

Ah. It was questioned downthread, and they gave a better source. Someone pointed out that he misspelled 'nieces'; someone else pointed out that Jaime is supposed to be dyslexic.

Well if it was from an official site, its showcanon, right? So this clarifies a few things.

Though I still maintain the SS are Westeros's SEAL team.

That's some mighty purdy handwritin' from someone who had their dominate hand chopped off.
“The others followed, and found themselves in a small, stuffy basement, which would have been damp, smelly, close, and dark, were it not, in fact, well-lit, which prevented it from being dark.”

So this then confirms the sending of the boat back to Sunspear. It should have been more prominent, perhaps letting us read this in real time, before Ellaria killed Doran.

Actually, the tense 'I am sending him back' still leaves it fairly ambiguous. The intent was for him to go back, but no indication the ship left King's Landing yet.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours
