Paran is my favourite malazan character too but wasn't in the list.
I bought the Name of the Wind, The Kingkiller Chronicles, thanks to this list. I've got to say I love it so far.
Kvothe is a good choice!

Anyone can add a character, which is probably why someone added Antsy even though he's not a major character, and also why someone messed up with Tehol/Bugg...
EDIT: Okay, they closed that option, it seems. Wonder why?

Puck was not birthed, she was cleaved from a lava flow and shaped by a fierce god's hands. - [worry]

They were getting too many write-ins, making the list too long.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Read slowly.
The books are amazing, but only 2 of the 3 are out yet and Rothfuss is notorious in the time he takes to complete them, and most of that notoriety came before he had so much touring to do and a charity to run.
So if you churn through Name of the Wind and Wise Man's Fear, expect a painful wait for the finale.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish
Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

So many choices. Just a bunch of awesome characters
I went with
Rake - Obviously he is just awesome (and I couldn't find quick)
Conan - He is an iconic character who defined what sword and sorcery are
Corwin - I loved Corwin in the Amber books.

Can't access the link from work. However:
Logen Ninefingers - Though I draw too many uncomfortable parallels to him (he was REALLY hard to read for that reason), the closeness of personality, the tortured self-reflection and the 'what happens if you get him angry' make Logen my top character thus far.
Hellian - if you have to ask, then you don't belong here.
The third seems to be eluding me. I'll have to come back after some thought.

Hellian is a really good choice, Why didn't I think of that?

results show a top three of Discworld. understandable as Death, Vimes and Weatherwax are awesome, and Sir Pterry recently passed away.
Samwise Fucking Gamgee beats out Rake, Druss and many more?
Fuck right off
Good to see Warden made it in, if only just scraping into the top 200. Love the low town novels.

Given the relative obscurity (still) of MBOTF, as opposed to Dragonlance, AND the fact that Raistlin is probably THE most iconic D&D-inspired character after that dark elf Salvatore wrote so much about (Dritzt, right? I never read the novels, and i'm blanking on the name for some reason), i'm not surprised.
But the fact that a support char from Lord of the Rings tops both is something I do find annoying.

Wow, the results sure changed since I looked at the poll. When I last saw, there weren't any Discworld characters in the top 5.

Id say Rakes appearance has something to do with the rabid dogs on a certain forum.....

Holy crap, too difficult, cannot choose. I will abstain and then bemoan and tut at all your choices afterwards.
Even though obviously the winner should be Death from Discworld.
