Hi everyone,
I recently finished tCG and, even after reading a couple of times the passage i didn't find clear, I have a question:
Cotillion stab the CG, Koryk goes into despair mode and Fiddler try to console him....when Hedge pull back Fiddler reassuring him that Koryk will recover, Fiddler turns to QB (who just arrived along with Kalam) and ask if what he saw was real...
QB then leads them to the top of the hill and dare Fiddler to ask "him"...
The lines I'm talking about in the spoiler

Quick Ben and Kalam joined the two sappers, and Fiddler fixed his eyes on the wizard. 'Was it real,
Quick? What I saw – did I …'
The wizard gestured and they followed him to one edge of the summit. He pointed down to a lone figure
standing some distance away, little more than a silhouette, its back to them. 'Care to ask him, Fid?'
Ask him? After all we've done … how to see this? Ask him? What if he answers me?'No,' he said.

Him? "a lone figure"
I haven't figured out who is that...
Heboric is the one who made most sense to me...but he should be underground in a cavern

Oh... I thought that by the time that Fiddler and QB conversation happens ST had already joined Cotillion so I ruled him out ^^'

It's Cotillion.... Fid's preference not to ask reflects a few things, notably that being told they failed or it wasn't worth everything that got them to this point re the CG would be shattering, but also the Bridgeburner's history with Dancer and Kellanved and how much of what happened to them was triggered by the fake death/ascension.
