Hi guys,

I'm halfway through the Gardens of the Moon now. I used to read mainly ebooks so I don't know if I'm objective in judging this, but I gotta say I am surprised of how poor quality is my paperback of Gardens of the Moon. I don't think I have treated the book in any bad or rough way.

Name of the author which is like made of gold color has entirely went off (I mean the gold color went off). However, what bothers me the most is the fact that there are like 10 pages already torn from the book (pages on the begging where are the maps and where characters are enlisted - meaning, yes, I turn to those pages often, but still, I believe they should last something).

I want to ask whether this is normal? Have you experienced similar issues? I am seriously thinking about purchasing next books in library binding, is this worth it or is it just as bad?

I've not had any issues with pages coming UK but yeah, the Bantam paperback have very stiff spines and the foil comes off the letters relatively easily unfortunately.

I think it was a bad luck. None of those happened to me, but my friend has the same problem with torn pages in HoC. Only problem I had was with DoD and CG, where on the spine of the book "cracks" appeared from bending, tho I havent bent it more than other books. (we both have czech versions)

My paperback tBH and RG have pages that have come out, no issues with the others!

The books have had some serious use though so I'll take that!

My pb MOI lost pages so I bought the hardcover on ebay. I've had no trouble with the hards.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

This is what happened to my copy of The Bonehunters: https://www.dropbox....iaKH5hnWpy69NYa

And my copy of MoI literally split in half.

My GotM lasted through my reading it, and then it went abroad with not one friend (Italy), but two friends (Ireland) in their suitcases and daypacks. It came back in moderately rough shape...but was still completely intact and readable.

Yours must have been a fluke.

My main flaw as a reader is that I love cracking a book's spine, especially when the text is set too far toward the inside of the page and it falls into the inter-page crevasse.
