Rad final weapon challenge - Attila's Sword of Mars. And Wil's background history that Attila the Hun was known as the 'scourge of god' was also rad. But the build and execution was lacking.

As always, the episode started out with another crap result from the preliminary rounds. Cool concept - fantasy blades and have to combine meteorite into the blade, but damn I knew that dork's goofy handle with blade that curved back the other way was going to fail miserably in the tests. And it looked goofy AF too. And one of the other contestants made a 'fish head' fantasy blade that Doug likened to a sex toy paddle.

Another rather sub-par episode.

PTSD guy forgets what a Kukri looks like and turns in shit and is eliminated. Then the next guy eliminated basically glued a block as a handle to his blade and it hurts the hands of Ben and Doug during testing.

Final challenge was looking to be sweet, especially when Doug said: Ram-dao, meet ram carcass. Then proceeded to decapitate the head of the ram and go all brutally hack-hack-hack on it. But then it all ended there when it's revealed the other dumbass contestant missed a simple parameter on his blade and is told to leave the forge without one bit of testing on his Ram-dao.

Yep ole buddy ole pal I agree. Most exciting thing about Ep was the epic snow they played in. I knew before they even left that one final was going to be eliminated before it was even test because they made it a point to have Wil say(which he never does on final) the stuff about parameters and then I during the build I was like “hey dude your forgetting your ball tip!”

Moving on..The Butcher is still a surprise treat to watch. It’s by far the best of the spinoff shows and my son watches it with me. The show makes me so hungry and want to go to the store. That said they really need to figure out a way to make it more fair for the female butchers! Every one of them so far as struggled with the 1st challenge on the rack. I like this show.

Am I nuts or did Wil NOT say that handle had to be cast bronze? I was expecting an elimination of the guy that didn’t bronze..but they carried on testing and didn’t say a thing. I deleted before I could think to check.

Won’t lie I was bored enough with this weeks Ep that I was practically surfing the entire hour. Only thing that stood out was wondering if ole dumbass made his knuckle guard for a LGM only having 3 holes.

2nd Ep had 2 finalists that all competitors should strive to meet. Their Boa Zande swords were beautiful and fabulous in testing.

The Spatoon was kinda bullshit but deadly on dummy. This basket hilt sword is kinda insane. Doug punched the 1st head off lol.

Much better Ep last night though I’m not sure why they had Needle blade requirements be so long. From what I remember Needle was like a mini fencer blade and not full on fencer blade.

Still much better Ep then that last pos crowbar Ep which could very well be the worst Ep of the series.

Watching S1 Ep 5 and the sheer quality difference from the smiths to what we have gotten past few seasons is crazy noticeable. That said one of these guys committed the sin cutting his sword out of a sheet rather then actually forge the fucker out. I hate this cheat. Atleast he lost!

Finally along the lines of something I’ve been asking for for years is happening. The judges will be on the forge floor in a separate series starting 6/3.

Yes, Beat the Judges its called, right? I saw a preview for that and forgot to mention it here. I'm very interested to see the judges in action. Though I'd say Ben Abbott has probably proven himself, having won the show comp twice.
