Who lost out due to Oponn's bargain?

In GotM (Chapter 4) Oponn agree with the Gatekeeper that someone close to Paran will die a premature, meaningless death in his stead. I could not find a discussion about this - hence this thread.

My thoughts are that it must be either Tattersail, Toc or Felisin.

- With Tattersail, there is a reason why she dies. Trying to escape she takes a risk. She was in control of her life and she goes on to be reborn.

- Toc is different. Every time I read his storyline, it all feels so senseless i.e. why??? He just completely hands over his destiny and it's all so sad. Of course, he get another go but, again, his death within sight of salvation... why????

- Then there is Felisin. I suppose, she would be the ideal candidate. After all, if Tavore had had even the slightest inkling the outcome of their meeting would have been oh, so different.

Do you know of any definite hints in the books indicating Oponn's victim?

Didn't they take his father or something? They discuss it at the time I believe.

the most obvious candidate would be Lorn who dies dues to oponns influence attacking the coin bearer. I seem to remember something about the death being someone in his shadow, which would hint towards either Lorn who died literally in his shadow or Felisin who was in her brothers shadow metaphorically.

I always assumed it was Lorn.

In retrospect i suppose Felisin or Tattersail were possibilities.

It always struck me that the coin was mentioned right before his leg gave out,
