This actually really improved towards the end and finished strongly.

Never thought I'd say this when I began watching it but looking forward to s02 now.

So the season 2 premiere was pretty much better than all of season 1 combined. No stupid villain
Spoiler
, no floundering about with regards to giving everyone something to do. The Justice Society is now involved, and settling "aberrations" in the timeline that were created by the Time Masters meddling over the years makes SO much more sense than randomly jumping through time and trying and failing to defeat Vandal Savage. I feel like Season 2 may finally let this show find solid ground.

Three eps into S2 and this show is so far massively improved from S1.

There is still some cheese and some too basic plots and story beats, but the pace is better, the characters make better music together, the dialogue is far less eyerollingly bad, and they're having way more fun with little nods to DC history (the katana, Commander Steel, etc). Amaya/Vixen needs some work, but the potential is there, Nate is a good addition, Mick and Sara are gloriously chewing scenery and loving it. Some of the contrivances to keep Firestorm from frying every problem in seconds are a bit weak, but fair enough.

This. All of this!

Sara as a samurai was glorious!

Actually, she's "basically a ninja.".
:)

...that whole bit was funny, even if none of it made any sense at all.

Wow, the 1980's ep was AMAZEBALLS!

I love how this show is now crafting the stories. They've figured out how to write a multi-character show well.

And Lance Mutha Fuzuckin' Henrikson as old Obsidian? Holy shitballs!

Anyways. I think my love of this show is NEARING Flash territory.

You're overthinking it BK. It's a comic based weekly show on the frikkin CW.
With a time travel theme.
It's not going to withstand much analysis on most things. If you're dwelling in the level of security in the White House in an episode based on semi immortal master assassin magic dude Damien Dark attempting to something something Russians something nukes Sara stabby stab and Prof Stein slapping his younger self around, you might as well go see what's on HBO.
