I killed the pig mutant...but all it gets you is a shortcut past the flaming ball thingie. Anyways, I've fought Father Gasgcoine 4 times now ( I can make a pretty fast run there from the lamp), and I can get him down a lot...but once he changes form...it's just me diving him and using blood vials...and it's usually over quick. Lol! Is there a secret to beating his beast form?

Loved this fight. I learned to do that run without fighting anyone as you can run past them all, including the pig.

Gascoigne beast form is tricky - but he's like the wolves. When he charges dive to the side at least twice, then hit him in the back, but don't use up all your stamina.. save some to get back as he turns.

If he takes a chunk of health off you, get up and run like hell up the steps, away, to top up health - then wait for the charge again. I found him easier on an open patch of ground where it was easy to sidestep without getting caught on scenery. It should only take a few of these to finish him off; have you used the music box? That will stun him once in beast form and let you get some hits in but you get left vulnerable and close after.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

He's also very susceptible to counters with the gun in his beast forms, he'll get staggered if you shoot him during his attacks long wind up.

You could also try oil urns + molotovs to finish him off.

I can't wait to get on later.

Got a choice between Forbidden Forest or Darkbeast Paarl. Or that Unseen Village area.. I'm guessing there's a boss hiding in there somewhere too.

Love the mist/fog effects, especially when it's so thick you can hardly see through it.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Just lost 20k souls in the Forbidden Woods.

Made my way back, found the Snatcher/dementor that killed me, and took him out this time using poison daggers. And.. he didn't have my souls! I was sure his eyes were glowing.

Eventually found a pitchfork guy nearby with the glowing eyes.. got my souls back which left me with the most I've held at one time; about 45k.

Also just read that having an Insight higher than 14 changes the game subtly, different creature attacks or something. Typically right after I converted my Madmans Knowledge into Insight. I guess I'll find out soon.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Thanks for the advice about Father Gascoine, I finished him off pretty quickly with just my axe. I just used the stairs to stay awy from him and picking when to jump in, dodge and strike at his back.

I made it through Cathedral whatever area...which was cool because fo the sheer amount of blood echoes they were dropping, those big guys who slowly meander around but hasve a HUGE reach were a bit tricky at first, but they are slow enough that you can get around back of them...the second one with the ball on the chain had a spinning attack though...learned that the hard way and lost 7K of Echoes...got em back though. Made it to a new boss (I think?) inside a church at an altar? A big knight-looking guy. Got about 4 hits in before he iced me on one hit.

Don't know who that is.. I found Vicar Amelia at an altar; but she starts as a woman and turns into a wolf thing.

There is another hunter, called Arthur, standing in a sort of dead end, but I had a chat with him and he gave me an item, fire paper I think. I just met him again near the forest.

It's entirely possible I've missed something though, there seem to be some optional bosses thrown in.

Oh, was the Arthur guy just standing there? Cause if so I just waded in and started swinging...maybe I should have tried talking? LOL If this game presents me with socially decent characters that I can talk to...but if I attack them they take me to school...I'm going to be VERY impressed! :D

He may still be hostile when you return, I don't know as he's one of the only npcs I've met after the crow-faced one in the first area. If you're unsure when you see someone, walk up slow and target them. If you can't lock on, chances are you can talk to them.

I went back into the first area after reaching the Cathedral - spoke to one of the people behind a door with a red lamp, and she's now sitting in the cathedral. Same with another women from around the cathedral ward area. Got a gesture from one and a vial of weird blood from the other.

I don't know whether I trust that hag thing that's inviting them all there though..

I'd trust the hag more than "Ioesefka" at the clinic...

I remember my first play through of Demon's Souls... I attacked an npc which remained hostile until I killed him. Then found out he sold unique items; I had to wait until ng+ to get them.

Crap. I hope I've not screwed that up then. Yikes!

Ha, doubt it,Bloodborne isn't as twisted as Demon's.

Yet, anyway.

Don't even bother after a few drinks. I get nowhere.

Just tried the Chalice dungeon. Creepy stuff so far, and a couple of fairly easy bosses. The giant flaming hound was fun.

Then went into the woods again, and got single shotted.. literally, by a canon.

Nope, you were totally right. He's an NPC and he was hostile forever after. I had to beat him and he was Strong!

Oh well.

Ok I thought I was supposed to be fighting some Cleric guy? Instead I made it to someone called Father G? Did I make a wrong turn somewhere?

I think you skipped the cleric...but I'm not sure how? Did you fight the giant mutant tree thing on the bridge after the two big werewolves?

Ok so I made it to Music box girl and came out the gate close to bonfire. Where is this boss at cause I just went in one hell of a circle?

Have you gone upstairs through the house? From the central yarnham lamp, go left through the gate, down the steps, into the house. Kill everybody, go upstairs, out the door and onto the bridge.

You can lure the wolves down to the door to kill, or ignore them and go left to the boss, killing or running past everything to reach it.
