Hrrm, tough. Changes a lot, but purely fantasy, right now:
1- Malaz works, SE and ICE
2. Nick Perumov's Consistent books.
3. Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle
4. Sapkowski's "Witcher" books
5. Butcher's "Dresden Files"
6. Paul Kearney's "Monarchies of God"
7. Adrian Tchaikovsky's "Shadows of the Apt"
8. Sanderson's Cosmere stuff
9. "The Knights of Breton Court" by Maurice Broaddus
10. probably a tie between Chris Wooding's Ketty Jay series and Ken Scholes' "Psalms of Isaak"
Main criteria is really sittign back, staring at my bookshelves and gauging the reaction of the "how likely am I to randomly pick up a book in this series and start reading from any arbitrary point?" feeling.

My list would always include:
Malazan - Erickson (minus Esslemont of course) *ducks*
Black Company as a whole.
The first five Amber novels. The second five would be honorable mentions. (If the fucker would have quit smoking, maybe we'd have all 15.)
The Riddle-Master trilogy by Patricia A. McKillip
The Empire Trilogy by Janny Wurts (the best part of Feist's world)
The Chronicles of Prydain C'mon, somebody had to get us started.
Robin Hobb's stuff deserves mention. Though I suspect she's descending into ringing the cash register territory.

Do you know of any translations of the series in English? I read Godsdoom in English and it was fucken brilliant in a deranged "best parts of Dragonball Z without any of the stalling" way.
I want to read more, but there's nothing I can find for sale...
