Over lunch went in to cast my most depressing vote in 22 years of voting.

Now its just the waiting to see which disaster we get.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

I just did this thing votecompass to help me decide, and it said I agreed 58% with NDP, 57% green party, 52% PC, 51% liberal. So basically I really don't agree with anyone and now I have even less of a clue who to vote for.

Well, Votecompass indicates that the least of all the bad choices for you is NDP.

Have a look at my strategic voting link above. Should give you riding polling. Knowing who is in the running can help decide.

Most of has have more outcomes we want to avoid more than ones we wish to have, and it is easier to decide based on those criteria.

For instance, in this election in a 3 way tight race I'd like have gone with a liberal because they are least likely to form a government if I elect their MP
If my riding had been Liberal vs NDP at the top with PC safely trailing I'd likewise have gone liberal
If I were in Guelph, I may well have voted for the Green leader
If it was Liberal vs conservative at the top I'd have gone liberal.

But my riding had an NDP candidate somewhat narrowly leading a PC, so I went NDP and threw up in my mouth a bit.

In short, I tried to max out my voting decision for a minority government, with the next priority being stopping a Ford government.

Being smack dab in the middle of the 905 suburbs, it's a pretty convincing win for the Blue no matter which way I vote.

Brutal.

Most of those will go PC, but still none have the PC all that close to 50% support. Thus even in a futile effort, you and friends could pick the alternate candidate running closest or if you can't tell which, vote NDP as the liberal support is more likely overall to collapse and vote NDP.

In FPTP there will always be no win ridings for some voters. I used to be saddled in a federal NDP riding (pre orange wave and with little reason to support them).

Well good luck to you guys. I hope PC MPs have the spine to stand up to Ford and mitigate some of the damage his premiership is going to do.

But yeah ... four years of this guy is going to tax the patience of all involved.

Four years of malicious stupidity against 15 years of corrupt mismanagement?

I honestly don't know which would be worse.

This is the darkest timeline.

Canada in 2016: how could you elect that populist moron America!?

Ontario in 2018: hold my beer.

Yeah, it can. We haven't gotten rid of the mismanagement. We've dialed it to 11.

Literally. Our consolation prize is that beer should become available at corner stores and gas stations.

Ugh. It boggles the mind that vast swathes of suburbia are willing to vote for people who literally told them NOTHING concrete about what they'll do once they get in power.

Good thing I bought a condo last year; good luck to anyone young trying to buy real property in the GTA in the future... sigh

It’s not that surprising. The ‘anyone but Wynne/the NDP’ sentiment was going to carry the day short of Doug Ford showing up in a Hitler Jesus costume.

Great. Just great.

Looks like the main areas that were Liberal the last couple times and went PC this time are northern GTA and western Ottawa. Also darn Sault St Marie and the new Kenora riding ruining what would have been our pretty no-blue north... boooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Popular vote so far is showing only ~40% for PC despite the huge majority of seats...

I wasn't sure I would see a worse premier in Canada than my own (McNeil here in NS) but hooooo boy was I wrong.

I can't believe Ontario gave a majority government to a former drug dealing, incompetent con-man. The only hope I can see is that lawsuits like Renata Ford's will over time ruin him and cause him to resign before the 4 years are up.

Best of luck to those forum members directly affected. I'm glad I moved back from Stratford before this shit show went down.
