I'm trying to make sure to get a matching set of the Malazan books as I read them. I currently have books 1-3 in hardcover published by Tor, and I'd like the rest to follow suit.
I was wondering if anyone has a decent image of the spine and cover of each of the remaining books, especially House of Chains since this is next on my list to read.
I found an image ( http://static.comicv...96832-20110.jpg ) that seems to have most of the spines, though the last 2 don't really match.
Also, if anyone knows of a good place to find what I'm looking for, let me know. After I know what exactly I should be looking for, I will of course check the habitual offenders (amazon, ebay, etc.), but if there is some secret society of Malazan books sellers, I'd love to know that secret handshake.

Try bookdepository.com - they show all (most?) editions of the books from both Bantam and Tor, and if they don't have it they have a link to an affiliate. Or sometimes powells.com have what you want. Good luck!

Well, on the plus side, I found Bonehunters that matches my set, on the negative side, the HoC book that I got from ebay was the wrong size. Same year, publisher, and date, but wrong dimensions. Why are there so many copies of the same book floating around
If someone has the smaller edition of the hardcover Tor published HoC, could you please post the ISBN number? Later when I get home I'll post the dimensions of the smaller ones so that its more clear.
btw, would the ISBN refer to a book that specifically, or is it a more general number related to the actual content of the book rather than the publisher/size/edition/etc.?

ISBN generally refers to a specific book in a specific format. Note that a publisher could (and does) change the cover artwork down the line and not need to change the ISBN. The Tor hardcovers come in two different sizes: the smaller hardcovers are printed by the Science Fiction Book Club, but (unfortunately for collectors) retain the ISBNs of the original full-size Tor editions. The only real way to tell them apart is by the dimensions (also, the SFBC editions have a 7-digit club #, usually located in the lower-right corner of the back jacket cover.)
As for the image of the spines you linked, that's actually my photo of the SFBC hardcovers. You won't find a matching set of covers by Tor, as they switched to the UK-style artwork/layout for the last two books of the series. You might be able to get a matching set of the mass market (smaller) paperbacks, though: as the earlier editions have been going out of print, Tor's been rereleasing them in the new style. I'm not sure how far they've made it, though. (A quick scan through the cover galleries at Amazon and LibraryThing leads me to believe they've all got the new cover now except for RG.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Thanks for the information. Glad I know the last two won't match before I went crazy looking for them
