I've not read any of the source material but that ep was class.

The guy who is playing Cassidy was hilarious in the British show Misfits.

Enjoyed episode two, but I'm a little worried at the slow pace they're taking with the main plot.Cassidy's plot was suitably brutal. Am very curious whats up with the two dudes hunting Jesse.Tulip is verging on annoying and not in a good way.
So it appears the Saint of Killers will be called The Cowboy. This is The Bad Idea.

I've seen this on a few reviews:

Quote

AMC sent the first four episodes of Preacher out to press before it debuted, and of the bunch, all of which I liked or loved, I'd say this second episode, "See," was the weakest.

I still really enjoyed ep2.

Thoughts so far:

Keeping it's cards close to it's chest, I'm enjoying not knowing the original story.

From what I've gathered/random thoughts - spoilers for the first 2 eps:

Spoiler

Roll on the next ep!

It bothers me that they've turned what was pretty up front information in the comics (basically the "what's going on?") into a needless mystery. Like we are talking all the mysteries that the show is keeping mum on...are basic info that is revealed on page damned 2 of first issue of the PREACHER comic.

That makes me think that they have no faith in the show being watchable after that stuff is revealed...to let the info out. And it irritates the heck out of me to be honest. That stuff doesn't NEED to be a mystery.

I'd say it depends on how many significant reveals they've got to play with.

I'm guessing the things they aren't revealing are pretty major so pacing it out makes sense TV perspective wise.

They've got ten eps to play with...

Unless it's a page turning kickoffwhatthefuckathon then aye, douche bags, give me answers! It's so hard resisting reading up on the story online.

It's probably me knowing the stuff they are hiding that makes it irritate me so...but overall the point of Preacher was never the key points about the story...but what happened as a result of those points. The comic is more a study of all the stuff that happens AFTER you know what's going on.

For me, I think they've nailed Cassidy and Tulip (especially...Ruth Negga is PHEN-OMENAL)...but that Dominic Cooper's Jesse leaves something to be desired...again probably based on what I know of his character from the comics.

Aye, it's the eternal problem for any of the TV shows adapted, what do they do for the uneducated vs the readers. How much to reveal and how soon.

If it is revealed so soon in the comics then they could have decided to be somewhat more forthcoming. For effect I guess they're going for a different layout for the TV series.

Being an uneducated, it hasn't bothered me so far. there has been enough tidbits to form some guesses and I'm enjoying the ride.

They just need to keep the feed coming, the next 2 eps pick up apparently so here is hoping they expand it out somewhat.

I think I said upthread, I was always going to love Cassidy as he was great in Misfits, Dominic Cooper too I have thought, solid in the role so far but I have nothing to compare it to, could be an epic fail for all I know heh.

Otoh, the comic story goes wildly off the rails and never quite gets back to where it arguably should have been. The show has a chance to correct that.

The large music box and bean? can intrigued me. I'm curious to see what happens next.

I'm surprised to see people hating the first episode or being on the fence.

I think the first episode is amazing. Like, one of the best first TV-episodes I can recall watching. I have no recollection of what the actual comic started like but I can definitely recognize the comics way of telling stories.

I love the weird seemingly unconnected violence and craziness going on, even as we are slowly introduced to Jesse Custer and the cast. Definitely want to watch more.

I don't know a thing about the comic except what I've glanced at here but I've found the 2 Eps interesting and pretty entertaining. Pretty damn far out there, absolutely! I'm definitely in for a while to see where it goes. Cassidy is scene-stealing-awesome almost every time he appears! My wife and daughter can barely understand 30% of what he's saying but I've always had a knack for comprehending an Irish or Scottish accent for some reason. I catch about 85% to 90%. Tulip's introduction in Ep 1 was pretty bad ass. One of my biggest questions is:

Three eps in and liking a lot. I do wish they would get on with the roadtrip, but the quirkiness and Tarantino vibe is pretty strong.

Second season was just confirmed by AMC.

Dang, episode 6 was great, finally got some answers too. The first 15 minutes made for some great watching with the reveal and then the motel action, probably my favourite scene of the series so far.

Loved the introduction of Cassidy into that fray heh.

And that ending... woah! What the hell...

Interesting reveal about the Cowboy in the latest episode. The show has kind of slogged along the past few episodes. I hope the season finale is enough to make me want to come back for season 2 (if there is a season 2). We'll see.

One thing I did notice...
