After book 3 is a good place to take a break since it's the end of the trilogy. Glad it's picking up again and hopefully Rhythm of War won't put you in another rut.

Haha...be warned these next books are not as fast paced as the first trilogy. It may or may not be what you're looking for right now.

Isn't it time a mod edited this thread's title to indicate there's more than three books?

Wow I honestly didn't think you would like book 4. It's good but easily my least favorite of all of them, while 5 is my favorite. 5 is so fucking good. That opening battle too. There's nothing better than seeing Darrow in action from the opposing POV.

All I know is that Pierce has started on it. I think he wants a 2021 release date, but with how big the story has gotten it wouldn't surprise me if it's pushed back.

I also could never find confirmation on whether this second series is actually a trilogy, or if everyone is just assuming it is. And weirdly, it doesn't have a name of its own. The whole series is just Red Rising.

Given current plot threads, I think this could easily be two more books with just those threads developing.

I think he could expand it further if he wants with more plot threads. There's not really an end that's satisfying for the revolution currently.

Sounds like book 6 probably won't be out this year. Someone asked Pierce on instagram how long till book 6.

Pierce said, "A bit. Had to reverse course to give it the story it deserves." "Thanks for understanding amigo. Killed me to u turn but u turn I did."

Finished the first trilogy. I liked it. Good story, grey fun. Took me a week from book 1 to end of book 3 so clearly I enjoyed myself.

Sometimes it feels like things just go darrows way to keep the plot moving but not enough to pull me out of the story.

The tide rises!

There's what I view as groundwork being laid with the different POVs and they pay off later in a pretty fun way.

Decided randomly that I wanted to read(/listen to) this series again. So bloody damn excited to dive back into this world! Going to start the second trilogy following the reread this time as I've never read them.

Finished the original trilogy again and also Iron Gold, the guest book in the new trilogy. This was interesting because the audiobook version used multiple narrators to tell the stories of the 4 protagonists. While this was jarring at first I soon got used to it and I can't to enjoy the other three sections more than the Darrow bits.

I have Dark Age lined up but I'm a bit put off Pierce Brown at the moment so the fact that he hasn't finished the third book and I'm not sure I'll get it even if he does finish it soon means I'm hesitant to go through this one. Even though I'd really like to know what happens!

Dark Age is incredible. He's still writing book 6 (it's not locked in) so if you want to follow it up with the next book, you'll likely have to wait until 2023.

Hmm I mean I am quite invested in it right now and while Iron Gold has been so far the weakest entry IMO I have heard others say it really gets better in Dark Age...
