Somebody remind me what a jester does again - wants to get lynched?

Jester's are players who have the victory condition "be lynched" they win the game if they are lynched, they lose the game if they survive, get NKed, get vig'ed or modkilled. Their sole goal is to cultivate enough attention from the thread to warrant a lynch without triggering a NK from scum.

I'm personally trying to maths in my head about the numbers, and a Jester is throwing me completely off.

There are 10 players, we know that there is a Jester, so how many scum are there?

I mean, it can't be 2 killers and a symp, that would mean 7v3, which, WCS, makes Day 3 D-Day.

8v3 on Day 1
6v3 on Day 2
4v3 on Day 3
2v3 on Day 4 (scum win)

Although, I guess even at 8v2 it's still Day 3 D-Day, right?

The only other options for a longer game is for there to only be 1 scum, or for some townies to have some lynch or kill protection.... I think it's more likely, then, that this is going to be a 3 Day game.

With all the vote jumping and overt signalling I would think that points more towards Ven as the Jester.

It is meant to be a mini. Jester can kill every fucker if we lynch him. The Jester knew who he was before the game started, or when he got his PM. All we knew at the time was there is an exotic role. Then Korbas and Venesara acted the way they acted "before" we knew as a whole. This exchange straight off the bat seemed off, forced, or silly. Therefore either one of them is most likely the Jester and we should steer clear of lynching them. That is why I am inclined to vote elsewhere. Right now Spite is best option for being 100% non Jester as he hasn't posted. So I am down with voting someone in the middle of the pack.

Actually, since there is a jester in this game it could make it insanely short if there were 3 of them.

4v3v1 - 1 lynch 1 NK -2 Day 2
3v3v1 - scum get jester to reveal himself and lynch with jester self voting, scum win 1 lynch Day 3

Without the jester 3 scum was conceivable, with the jester 3 scum is just too much, it's 50% of the towns 6 population right off the bat. I doubt any combination of town roles could combat that unless everyone is roled.

So I am more inclined to believe 2 scum 1 jester 7 town. Closer to the golden ratio and more likely for a mini.

Well, even if the Jester is part of town, it only helps scum anyway. The Jester wants to attract a lynch, which is town's only tool against scum. So the jester would have to be considered an independent role, or scum.

Good catch on my maths screw up at the top there Korbas - I had written out the 2 scum math first, then just copied and pasted and changed the 2s to 3s, but didn't figure it all out properly.

Anyway, I don't think it's likely that there are 3 scum, but even 2 makes it difficult for town. We gots to be on our game folks!

Obviously you have never played with a Jester. A Jester is a role that has it's own separate winning conditions. A Jesters sole winning condition is to get lynched. If a Jester is nked or survives until the end of the game it loses.

Now before you get your pants in a twist over how can I know that and not be a jester. It is simple I have played in games with them and there is this little thing called google and you can use it to educate yourself (sometime when you aren't looking at porn).
