I hope you're being facetious.

I thought it was really quite awesome. The world seems quite interesting, and I liked the characters and the whole scene really.

I'm more excited to read the book now than I was before.

Sadly, he isnít me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like heís me. Look down, back up, where are you? Youíre in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. Whatís in your hand, back at me. I have it, itís an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. Iím on a quorl.

I've not read it but he's got too much experience behind him for him to mess this up. Storm Front wasn't the most gripping start to a series but that took us to some great places 😃
Apt is the only one who reads this. Apt is nice.

Also not read it, but just chiming in to say the first Alera novel was cheesy fantasy of the highest degree, and it turned out okay.

I have a little faith that JB will come good.

I don't like to admit this but I been struggling since about ch 12. I'm on 20 now. I really hope this feeling goes away soon and the epicness of Ch 1 returns.

On ch 31. It's still slow going. I can only manage about 5-6 pgs at a time and sometimes that's only once a day depending on my mood. This is by far my least fav Butcher bk. :) I wish I could speed read so I could finish and go buy Shadows of Self already.

Well well I managed to get through ch 29-to just 2 pgs in of ch 37. I had a headache from wreak so I couldn't play Destiny without wanting to blow chunks so I read. It did get better and I ll post thoughts in AM. My Ambien is kicking in as I type this.

Indeed. There is some fun coming your way in a few more chapters but overall what I've read oh so slowly is this isn't a great book from what I consider a stellar author.

I quite enjoy Rowls pov.

I can't quite grasp Cat though. Is it a telepathy thing or are cats and humans just meowing at each other? It's giving me a fit to picture it so I'm just defaulting to reading it as telepathy.
